Quitting my job tomorrow. Have no other job to go to. Feel relieved similar to HBF job has taken its toll on me and has had an effect on life outside of work. Never had a real issue with my boss except that she is a real micro manager.

How did you go Jane?

I am a real micro-manager on the first time that a person is doing things then after that (unless they need to remember) I leave it to their own devices! :)

It is how I remember to do things.

I've told this story before, but alas here I go again

the day I was going to quit my job as a network admin at a large retail chain, I was given a redundancy (which equated at approx. 25 weeks wages) and marched out of the building. i was building up the courage to hand in my notice, but the redundancy was done before i did it.

i started my new job a week earlier because of that

Thats weird being marched out of a building over a redundancy. Can't say that i've heard of that happening.

Thats just the way they did them. Weren't even allowed back at my desk to collect things. They wanted no drama at all. The day I got done, there were 5 other people. 2 of them were flown back from where they were in Canberra and told at the airport, and given their stuff on their desk in boxes. They were brutal

This company purchased a family owned chain that would be recognized by nearly everyone. 130 stores around the country, purchased for about 50 million. Sold 4 years later at a loss of 25 million. Completely mismanaged and run into the ground. The management team were all on 200k plus, yet ordinary everyday workers were minimum wage. Within 6 weeks of taking the company over, they made 50 head office staff redundant too, including my manager. Replaced him with a consultant who cost $1200 a day who came in promising big exciting changed, and delivered 2 new servers and an overwhelming sense of "I'm better than all you plebs because I'm from the northern beaches of Sydney". The place was toxic

Are they currently being liquidated? :P

Quit my only 'real' job recently. I was an apprentice and the boss was a campaigner, I got called an f'ing dumb c*** all the time so I just stopped showing up. Very dissapointed that it didn't work out but I'm way happier for it
