Agree....tonight so far we have been far too quick to kick it. Playing conservatively as if it's pissing rain. Back our run and carry and run these grandpa's off their legs in the second half.

Geelong aren't giving us the luxury of time to assess the best options.

The pressure being brought to our ball carriers is the common denominator when we play teams at the pointy end of the ladder.

At least we both know it’s not coaching coz Bev is perfect 😂😂😂

Geelongs defence seem to be holding their shape behind the ball and allowing us to get extras through the middle of the ground.

This has resulted in us either having to kick it long(Bailey Smith) where we are outmanned or hold the ball and wait for us to get forward(the Bont).

Edit: What Daisy just said.
They have made some bad decisions, weightman looking inboard, where we had numbers, then kicking to a contest, still in it.

Agree Norm but not putting out our best team before the game starts hardly helps

Dumb as **** picking the sole ruck.

Not only getting beaten in the middle but stewart (the third defender) can do as he pleases.

Tactically its a terrible move and one that we don't have a Max Gawn level ruck to pull off.

Agree- Martin and Sweet both have a big physical presence in the middle. And English up forward would stop a lot of their easy defensive marks.

Is it just me or are we being amazing 🤩

Umpire letting it go so feel it.

McRae special

Smith has to stop just bombing the ball when he gets a hold of it. Seems to panic! He’s done it about 3 or 4 times I’ve seen and each time has led to a turnover.
He's been doing it for the last 10 weeks. Seems to want to get the ball out of his hands as soon as possible

Go away. It makes too much sense therefore wont happen

Don't know if Wallis is the answer, can see him turning the ball over a lot in this type of game

Haven’t seen any of the game. Sounds like one of those ones where 7 points may as well be 20 with the difficulty in scoring?

Geelong's pressure is not the problem. It's composure and playing to instructions. Bev told us pre-game we'd kick it quickly and guess what...that's playing straight into Geelong's hands. In the second half we have to play our game....not some bullshit style especially pulled out for Geelong on a wetish ground. Back ourselves to beat them on our terms. There is nothing special about the Geelong pressure.

I don't want to turn it into a Bevo bash, but you're absolutely correct, English as sole ruck creates 2 weaknesses.

It must be so frustrating for the players. Those decisions don’t give you the best opportunity for success. It’s even more disappointing because the recruitment of Martin, the blooding of Sweet and the approach to the first 10-12 games looked like we’d turned a corner in this regard.
