lousy news and a poignant reminder that f/s is still a great aspect of our unique game.........rip and best wishes the whitnalls...........

Graeme Whitnall was a large part of my teen memories growing up as a Blues supporter. He played seniors a bit in his own right, but we used to get to Princes Park early each week(usually about 1/4 time) and watch the reserves during our halcyon days from '78 to '81. Graeme and Alan Mangles used to absolutely tear it up on the ball every darn week.

It was great to watch them at work, and then it was into the Senior game.

He had a really tough team to break into.

Always remember the 7 and the 10 ripping up those early games.

Sad news. Best wishes to Lance and the rest of the Whitnall family.

Graeme Whitnall was one of the first Scanlens cards I got as a kid. I don't remember much about his playing but he's a valuable member of the Carlton family and will be missed.

tough one to swap?

I didn't really have anybody to swap with. I kept all of my cards back then, even the doubles. I was just so excited to have anything Carlton related. We weren't exactly well off.

Handy player himself, but he gave us Lance & what a pleasure Lance was to watch, particularly prior to suffering OP.

I really hope our club is monitoring Dane Whitnall closely. He is growing as a player each time he turns out for Calder Cannons.

Vale, Graeme Whitnall.

Just saw this. Mum told me stories about Graeme before we recruited Lance. I guess the fondest was her making sure she went to the reserves games because he was a fantastic leader of that team and one of her faves.

Got to know Lance a little because he was close friends with a mutual friend.

Deepest sympathy to the Whitnalls.
