Preview R1: Changes vs. Collingwood

The conditions tomorrow suit us imo, we can stretch them it's going to be warm and clear.

I’d argue the opposite. 3 tall forwards, 3 tall defenders and 2 rucks is a 3rd of our side. Warm favours running power, I’m not confident we have an advantage in that aspect.

Happy to bet any amount of money he won't be best 23 by the end of this season.

Your feelings are your own but facts don't care how offended you are by the truth.

Hey, maybe leave this childish shit out of your posts in the future?

I agree that Nankervis' output doesn't match the fandom so far. He's got some nice tricks, but the meat and potatoes stuff isn't there at this stage. Fingers crossed he can put it all together, but at this stage I don't think he demands a spot in the 23.

I reckon the run of close losses to Collingwood has been broken ... in Collingwood's favour. My tip is Pies by 20 points and plenty of press about mental demons afterwards.

That doesn't mean I think we'll have a bad season. Quite the opposite - I think we will easily make the six, but I think Collingwood will be our bogeys for some time.

His 2024 playing at half back was very promising. Didn’t back it up last season, but he also wasn’t playing at half back. I like his mix of attack and defence when playing behind the ball. But it seems to be a long queue these days, not sure he has a future with us.

Scroll on by, you are letting your feelings make you say weak stuff.

Mainly clear yes, but going down to an overnight low of 13 from a top of 24 means ideal rather than warm conditions for an evening/night game. May just get a tad dewy very late in the game.

Nank’s had 31 games and been solid to good in almost all of them. I think the fandom is people seeing the potential and upside (especially from 2024).
It’s probably exaggerated by the selections above him (laird, cumming, cook, Jones….). I think it’s fair to preference Nank at or above those guys who have their strengths but also pretty big weaknesses.

He’ll certainly get a shot during the year and I hope he makes the most of it because he’s got huge upside. Contrary to other posters I can absolutely see him solidly best 23 by the end of the year.

I can also see him burn bright then out like Hamill and never make it beyond the fringe. Really a make or break year for him.

Cook has been given every chance to succeed

The coaches have given him more opportunities than his output has warranted over the last few years. Clearly they see something in him worth persisting with. Quite unlike us really

Time for him to deliver.

Should feel free to sneak around the back for a handball receive or two. We want some players to get cheapies
Laird does not like this suggestion

If McRae hard tags Milera we will have basically no attack out of defense
I’m not sure any coach has ever though about tagging milera let alone hard tagging

Don't agree, midfielders due to the fact they are running all game tire more quickly in warm conditions and lose the running power. Key forwards don't get any shorter in warm conditions.

Wer conditions absolutely don't favour talls.

It favours us if our pressure is up and we move the ball well.

If you dont.... good night.

“Don’t get shorter” is a modern day laugh.

Last week Saints didn't apply enough pressure & Pies took plenty of uncontested marks... which helped them move the ball. We can't allow that tonight.

I am confused.

I read a great deal over summer from Bigfooty Experts about the mismanagement of Soligo’s groins by the AFC. How does a heart operation solve his groin problems?

I wonder when this guy is going to turn back up? Looks like the heart operation hasn’t fixed him, so you inadvertently posed a pretty fair question.
