Walker needs a break. Give Curtin his role. Edwards as 3rd wingman.

Bond in for Milera to play on Normie.

Berry needs a full game, so Pedlar in as sub.

In: Edwards, Bond, Pedlar
Out: Walker, Milera, Berry

B: Bond, Butt, Keane
HB: Michaelanny, Worrell, Hinge
C: Cumming, Dawson, Nankervis
HF: ANB, Fogarty, Keays
F: Rachele, Thilthorpe, Curtin
R: OBrien, Peatling, Rankine
I: Laird, Soligo, Edwards, Taylor
Sub: Pedlar
Good to see Keaney in your side
These comments get made on here all the time - how we stuff young players around and often said how they will or should go elsewhere. Josh Worrell certainly had that said about him a bit

And yet I see in his interview last week he reckons he probably wouldn’t be on an AFL list if he played for another club after the early struggles he had

Highlights how people view what’s happening from the outside is not relevant to what’s actually going on
People are so drowning in their own negativity that it’s hard for them to see anything that was managed right when it actually happens

Re Curtin there are people that want him out that would also say we don’t back in young players

It also happened with Keane after giving away a couple of free kicks and there were people wanting him out even though he’s a young key position player doing most things right

Yeah we’ve been shite ever since Burton blew up the club but it doesn’t mean that we are getting everything wrong right now , far from it

IMO, Curtin needs to stay in like they did with Nankervis, give him another chance to prove himself on a BIG stage at the G against the Pies.
The G suits Curtin as the forwards can spread and he can get used more , it also suits his kicking as he can use the open spaces to hit difficult targets he does so well

One of his strongest games was at the G against Essendon

Unless he’s exhausted there’s no way you’d leave him out

Langford is a better player. Simple, we would’ve known that. Picking the local with skills we lack, pace etc leant us to him. When Butters leaves port it will screw them. The AFL model is a convoluted Vic bias mess so we must play our hand accordingly.

We will regret Langford but Draper is always home. Come on Sid!
Langford is a star in making for sure , Melbourne are the best recruiters in comp in 1st round

Sid will be great too , few things to work on whether that’s at sanfl or AFL level and that’s ok

I’d love him on the G this week , I think I’d pick him as sub and Berry in . Going to be hard to leave Taylor out however

Bloody hope he is not exhausted after his Saturday night game...

tbh now I think about it. Rest Tex (he looks very old and beat up - should not have gone to play Fremantle) and play Curtin as Tex.

People are right - Milera probably won't get dumped this week, but he should be. He was soft and shakey against Port. Inexcusable for a 100 game player.

Berry was good, so keep?

Would love to get Draper back in.... Nank was good and nice response after I thought a bad game v Carlton so can't drop him.

So in the end:

Out: Tex
In: Draper/Dowling.

(But I'd also drop Milera for Edwards)

Interesting little stat - Collingwood not exactly coming home with a wet sail in the 4th quarter.

But also - our 3rd quarters are our worst, while it is their best...

I wouldn’t worry about that too much. It shows we are the best team league.

I wonder this week, milera for bond. Bond could do a lock down job on hill or one of their resting mids when forward

I think tex is OK... I'd rest him next week vs the Eagles although he always destroys the Eagles.

I wouldn't make any changes. Milera had 1 brain fade in the last qtr, was ok the rest of the game. Curtin had a down game but had a decent run before this. I'd keep him in and stretch the pies.

Looking at their list, they appear to have many injuries so it'll be interesting what their line up is.

I expect them to be very competitive and I think we can win it.

Bond in for Milera.
Berry into the 22 for Tex
Dowling in as Sub

In Bond Dowling
Out Tex Milera

F Taylor Curtin Thilthorpe
HF Rankine Fogarty Keays
C Dawson Berry Cumming
HB Max Keane Laird
B Bond Butts Worrell
R O'Brien Peatling Rachele
I Hinge Nankervis Neale-Bullen Soligo
S Dowling

One thing that's puzzling to me is some posters desire to throw Curtin into the ruck. Never played ruck in his life.

The exact reasoning for not playing Thilthorpe in the ruck can be used for Curtin. Assuming he hangs around, he's probably our next most valuable piece of any potential premiership push.

Would go that far.
Rankine
Dawson
Fog
Worrell
Rachele
Soligo
Possibly Draper

Will all be more important imo

This game will show us alot about Nicks.

This game will be heavily decided by match ups and selections.

As we have seen over last few seasons, because we are the underdog and not expected to win - we might play with some freedom and flair with 'nothing to lose' mentality.... Lets hope anyway.

Pies backline can be exposed but will need Nicks to keep TT deep forward for as long as possible.

Hopefully Bond comes in to do a hard lockdown job on Hill or Naicos.

Overall I'm just worried we will get Nicksed this game...:embarrassedv1:

Thilthorpe has injured fingers, so would be good to get that right.

Curtin has attended throw ups & given his size would be handy to learn how to pinch hit in the ruck.

If Bond comes in this week, who vacates our back 7?
Given they won't want to drop anyone, Hinge probably gets moved to a wing... but then the balance of the bakline isn't as good.

Riley has always had injured fingers, ever since he walked into the club. Thing is, he IS a ruck and a better one than our lead ruck.

Curtin isnt and is arguably as important moving forward.
