It's incredible that he apparently "wasn't ready" barely 2 weeks ago when he was overlooked for Smith but suddenly in the space of 2 games he's banging down the door and we just can't find a spot for him🤣🙄.
100% it's Nicks shutting down ' the noise '

Same type of stuff he was saying about Dowling. Telling people he suggests they watch the SANFL games to see why he's not picked and then a few weeks later he's in the side.

Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks says the Crows will take the conditions predicted for the MCG on Saturday into consideration for the side they choose to take on Collingwood.

"Yeah, we look at conditions and the venue, and a lot of fair questions where we might look to change some things," he said.

Barely coherent sentence aside, I would have liked a follow up question:

Matthew, can you please provide an example of a previous occasion when you have altered our team line up based on the conditions, venue or opponent?
I liked the time where we played on the gold coast in biblical rain, and still played 3 tall forwards.

Collingwood literally only have to leave their state twice for the remainder of the H&A season. :drunk:

Had a good laugh when I heard that.

Nicks has his best 22 set long before the season starts and he sticks to it no matter what. The only time he makes changes is because of injuries, or a player has a (long) string of bad games and is pressured into it by media and fans.

Nicks is a complete joke.

Feel like this comes up every year. But really Collingwood would only be expected to play 6-7 or so interstate games.

1 Gather round
4 away games against non-Vic sides (the other 4 at home)
2 or maybe 3 repeat matches against non-Vic sides they also play at home

They would of course play 11 home games and then another 6 or so away games against Vic sides, which would be played in Victoria

This year they play 6 games outside Victoria

The only unfair aspect is they should probably travel to Tasmania every so often to face Hawthorn or North. And Geelong in Geelong but that's still in Victoria

What a crap stat.

Dawson is down on his average quality this year, he has had a bad patch along with Soligo. In fact he has been around 8-9% "below his expected kick efficiency".

What is doesn't say is what his expected efficiency is.

This stat means that a player like Luke Ryan who is a good kick but nothing special is supposedly one of the best kicks in the AFL this season because he is about his expected efficiency.

Champion data guy was on SEN saying that these ratings are based on the difficulty and expectations of the kicks
