100% agree. I guess it's the glass half full/empty thing here? Would I like to see MORE - absolutely. I'm just grateful I'm getting to see SOME changes. Which means there is a fundamental shift in our traditional way of thinking. Last year, both Smith and Murphy would have had weeks of games (despite being shit). This year they had one game each and out. This is a BIG shift from previous years. The kids getting second chances another big shift. Even Draper was given more opportunities this year than Curtin was last year. Curtin wasn't given a game until Round 8 last year and got 2 in a row then dropped and then games from round 20. Draper was given the first 7 rounds this year and I think will be back in soon. There is a shift in thinking that has to be seen as positive.I also liked that the young guys that we have subbed out of games, have played the next week.
But playing both Smith and Murphy for one game when we could have blooded a talented young guy looks like a backward step to me.
But after 6 years, it frustrating that we are still only taking baby steps while you see other clubs taking big strides in improvement
We still play a conservative game style which always comes undone against the better sides
