Poppy's got her work cut out this week against Mim Strom. Bowers back to her best and a hard player to tag, maybe worth it, although Strom also plays like a mid when the balls on ground. Will need to at least break even in clearance and stoppage in this one.

Which Freo comes out to play this week?

The Freo that lost R2 to Brisbane by 70 points and R3 to Nth by 100 points (both at home) or the one that beat a very good Melbourne side at home?

To say they have been patchy this season would be an understatement. Had to come from behind in the last quarter last week to beat the Giants. They are a bit like us, some really good top end talent but fall away a bit with their last dozen or so players.

I agree, Strom is a ripper. Stat wise Poppy is closer than I thought but Mim is miles ahead in the way she impacts a game.

Just a lazy 23 disposal, 8 tackle, 6 clearance game from Strom last week and more hit outs than GWS two rucks combined.

Didn't watch the game but guessing she doesn't play they probably don't win.
Not Strom's most dominant season, but she is effective all the same. Strom has Poppy covered at ground level, but I'd back Poppy above the shoulders a lot of the time. Having an OK season is Poppy!

I think Poppy started the season very strong and then we might have stalled her momentum when Montana came in and then we tried to get Greiser into games in the ruck....!

Working back into it.

I'll have to get the rabbit foot out and dust it off to try and break TigermanM2 curse!
Good luck with that (pun intended)

Ur like a stopped clock - right at least once every 12 guesses 🫣 🤣

hey buddy.... not fussed about being right or wrong, just very happy that Aoibhin gets a crack at doing what a lot of Irish women have done bloody well. Overdue.

Aoibhin Cleary will make Richmond history on Saturday by becoming the first Irish player to play an AFLW game for the Club.

Cleary signed a two-year deal with the Tigers in February and has since been working tirelessly in preparation for her debut.

Come Saturday in Fremantle, she will don the guernsey for the first time.

Hailing from Donaghmore-Ashbourne, Ireland, the 26-year-old combines speed, agility and exceptional two-way running abilities, set to shine as she takes her place on the field, after performing strongly in scrimmages throughout the season so far.

Cleary rose through the ranks of Ireland’s Gaelic National Football League (NFL), where she is the captain of Meath.
She has played at the elite Gaelic level since she was 16 years old and went on to be selected in the NFL All-Star teams in 2021 and 2022.

Most notably, Cleary has played alongside fellow Irish AFLW stars Sarah Rowe (Collingwood), Aishling Moloney (Geelong) and Niamh Kelly (Adelaide), representing Dublin City University at the O’Connor Cup.

The Ireland native has left nothing on the table in both scrimmages and trainings, proving she is ready for the AFLW level.

Coach Ryan Ferguson held high praise for the international recruit, telling the playing group it was only a matter of time before Cleary would debut.

“The fact is, we have been talking about Aoibhin from a match committee perspective for a long time now,” Ferguson said.

“We have been so excited, and what everyone saw on the weekend is that we have a player who has absolutely 100% earned their spot and is ready to perform.”

Cleary will make her AFLW debut this Saturday in Perth, when Richmond takes on Fremantle at 5:05pm.

How will you contain yourself for two more sleeps?

I'm wanting to see two things for Saturday. firstly that Aoibhin runs out and struts her stuff and we see her enjoying it and showing off her skillsets with no expectations just like any first gamer.

And two, want to see the commentators not stumble over the pronunciation of Aoibhin's name every time she gets it.

Richmond has made two changes for its trip to Fremantle.

Richmond's team for Saturday's clash with Fremantle has been confirmed, with two changes made from the line-up that defeated Collingwood last weekend.

In exciting news, Irish recruit Aoibhin Cleary will make her AFLW debut after an impressive string of performances in scrimmages and training. Read more about Cleary's debut here.

Joining Cleary as an inclusion is winger Maddie Shevlin, with the duo replacing Ellie McKenzie, who will miss through knee soreness, and Montana Beruldsen, who is out for the season with a calf strain.

Libby Graham, Bec Miller, Katelyn Cox, Beth Lynch and Sarah Hosking have been named in defence.

Kate Dempsey and Shevlin take up the wings, with Isabel Bacon through the centre. Poppy Kelly will ruck to Monique Conti and Grace Egan.

Up forward, Mackenzie Ford, Katie Brennan, Emelia Yassir, Caitlin Greiser and Laura McClelland have all been selected.

Ally Dallaway, Paige Scott, Sierra Grieves, Charli Wicksteed and Cleary are on the interchange.

The emergencies are Lauren Brazzale, Shelby Knoll and Lulu Beatty.

The Tigers and Dockers meet at 5:05pm on Saturday.
