He's learning before our eyes. Getting caught a couple of times, trying fend offs. ..learning his limitations that he needs to work within at the level. In previous weeks he rushed his disposal a bit. He's obviously been told to work on that... now he's trying to hold onto it for longer. He's working out the right balance.

This is the perfect time to keep him in and building and some of his pin point passing and goal assists were A1 quality. Get as many games under his belt by finals. ..he's going to be a match winner.

Plus Subi will suit him on the outside.

Is not a matter of resting Milera his form does not warrant selection

We all love Milera however we also shouldn't get seduced by 2-3 good things he does during a game, he lad needs to do a whole lot more and his game needs plenty more development and with this maybe some real solid midfield game time in the SANFL

IMO Milera is struggling to hold his spot

Douglas should be worried but for team balance he should really be in competition with Crouch snr, not Thommo. I don't think Crouch is there yet, set to return after the bye. ..so Douglas stays. We will need some spread at Subi.

Pyke, apart from one or two brain fades has been pretty good at putting team balance and structure ahead of individuals.

I would move Cameron to the wing, bring his run and pressure up the ground, drop Hendo and bring in Menzel up forward. He's reached the point where he's wasted in the reserves. Tank and effort both fine now. Match winner. Play him before he gets injured.

Thommo in for Douglas

Hendo out for either Wigg or Kelly. My heart says Kelly atm as he is so unbelievably unlikely to squib a contest. But realistically Wigg has been the better performer and is more suited to a midfield/defensive role.

Tempted to swap Milera for Menzel, oh so tempted
 
i wouldnt bring thompson back in. these guys are gonna have to learn how to play big games like this away from home without him. sick of seeing henderson just have zero impact on the majority of the games he plays. it didn't matter today but you go to subi, you can't take a bloke who shirks basically every contest.
 
Now is the time I believe that we start working towards our best 22 but the trick is to do it without experimentation. Milera is fading out I believe due to the bigger bodies and I think he is hurting. I am not sure he is in our best 22 come finals. Mackay is an option but he showed his size was severely lacking and a liability. But on the wide expanses of Subiaco I think he is seriously worth some consideration to provide some extra run. Menzel, Wigg and Brouch would be close. It would not surprise me if after the bye we see some new faces who have forced their way into the side from the SANFL. Henderson, Douglas and Milera could find themselves all playing SANFL after the bye.

For this weeks game though

In: Thompson, Mackay

I am however with others that no change could be a good thing. In a big game though, Thommo surely is a must in the midfield.

For me, we have to keep the balance of inside / outside players the way it is. To be honest, it's pretty tough to justify any of the 3 of Hendo, Douglas or Milera staying in the side right now. Everyone else from today's 22 deserves their spot next week.

It's pretty obvious that we'll only make 1 or 2 unforced changes. It's equally obvious that Thommo will be coming in - surely we've learnt by now that this needs to be for an inside player right? Lyons and M Crouch were both in our best 8 players today. Douglas was already lucky to be selected today, and in our worst 4. Should be a no-brainer but I'm just not getting a vibe that it will actually happen. I fear the coaching staff may wish to "release" Dougie into the outside role currently occupied by Milera, with Mackay replacing Hendo and Thommo replacing Dougie on the inside. I don't like it. Dougie can't hit the side of a house by foot right now and his confidence is just way down. He's stopped running.

I wouldn't have a massive problem with Mackay coming in for either of Hendo or Milera, but I'd just prefer to see Wigg finally get his shot as I feel his elite footskills could be important on the massive Domain Stadium.

Not sure how many times I have to say it. Hendo was playing off a wing. He didn't play defence.

Smith was in defence the whole game with Laird, Lever, Cheney, Hartigan, Talia and Brown.
