At the game. Milera out - not doing a lot wrong, probably breaking even with an opponent, and could do with a rest and recharge. Would swap in same role with Menzel. Hendo out for Mackay. Both direct swaps. Not sure the answer with who to take out for Thompson, except that he will be a definite in.

My mate and I have resorted to just laughing at Henderson to help us deal with the pain of him being in the side.

Our bay is full of "you can never say a bad word about a Crows player" dullards so our continual bagging of Hendo doesn't always go down well with some of the people who sit near us :D

Yeah I agree, we don't want to burn Milera out. He can do with a rest and recharge in the SANFL for a few weeks and bring in Menzel to take his place.

Do you laugh at the good stuff he does?

It'll be interesting to see how we attempt to fit Thompson back into the team, outside of taking Douglas out I'm not sure who else they could bring out that's been playing in the midfield.

Henderson still adds nothing but I suspect we'd drop Milera for Mackay before Henderson.

3 for Menzel in the SANFL must have him close as well.

Would be happy with an unchanged or Henderson out but don't see that happening with Thompson having to come back in.

Every player does things worthwhile in a game, the problem for guys like Henderson is that sometimes they don't do enough of them during a game or the good is heavily weighed down by the bad.
Hendo doesn't do too much wrong just one or 2 moments stick in the minds of some and they can't get past it to see the good stuff.

Absolutely can't see him being left out.

Obviously no one saw his second half either because it was pretty darn good after being woeful early.

That effort with Bruce looked awful but the ball moved a metre in the breeze late and Bruce far too good with body position.

Keep Hendo on the wing and prosper.

Come on mate, he clearly squibbed that contest - nothing tondo with the wind or Bruce.

And we don't need players who are good when the game is already won; we need players who win it to start with. He was irrelevant for most of the game.

Can't believe the number of people saying drop Milera. He's not doing enough... what?! We've cried out FOR YEARS for the kids to get a chance to play. Stop pumping games into old plodders! Back in the youth!

Now it's actually happening and we expect them to instantly get 20 touches every single week? Kids will be inconsistent, they'll have some quiet games, they'll have flashes of brilliance. Crucially they'll also learn on the job in the toughest environment and IMPROVE. We're finally using those spots 21 and 22 in the team as a way to develop players and people want to stop doing it. Sheesh.

So much this.

If a side can't find a HFF rotation to spare to develop a gun youngster it needs to have a good hard look at itself.

Hopefully the hand to mouth days are gone and we're finally seeing a cool head in the brains trust and out with the reactionary knee jerkers. Back in talent and invest in it it will pay you back in spades.

Very interesting discussion to be had at match committee.

Thompson needs to come back, Matt Crouch puts in a blinder and deserves to retain his spot.

Douglas seems the most logical player to come out but it'd be a gusty call. Brad C, Wigg, Mackay, Grigg all putting up nice numbers as well. Don't think we can be a legitimate premiership contender without a player of Brad Crouch's ability in the centre, so it's imperative he finds his way back in the AFL team. Can't see it being this week though. Lyons, Atkins playing too well and others too important to our structure.

Anyone for Henderson would be nice too.

Intriguing Thursday coming up.

I must say I initially thought the talk from Campo and others that Brad Crouch wasn't playing 'our way' was a bit of a cop out - in his last performance at AFL level he at least ran hard defensively and his main issue seemed to be getting his hands on the pill.

However watching my first SANFL game for the season on the stream yesterday, he really was playing one dimensional footy - shovelling it out without a great deal of consideration for who of his teammates were in best position and with no desire to run and carry. Stalwarts of the BoBoB cause will argue his 7 tackles showed intent, but for a heavily contested game where he was nearly always at the ruckman's feet, jumping on stationery opponents wasn't all that inspiring.

Meanwhile Jarryd Lyons continues to finesse the ball beautifully by foot, make an impact on the scoreboard and execute creatively by hand. I even saw him running hard up and down the wing defensively a few times. Matt Crouch has the inside extractor role sewn up despite a bizarre fortnight's resting and Thommo won't miss more than a week at a time. Douglas has had his last chance and will be dropped, but that still doesn't open up a spot for Brad. Will be interesting to see how the club manages him going forward.

Hendo probably misses for Mackay after a pedestrian first three quarters, I think/hope the coaches might just back Milera for one more week before the bye. Would have loved Riley Knight on the wing for this game.

The 1970crow changes. ;)

In: Thompson, mackay
Out: Henderson, milera

B: Brown, Talia, lever
Hb: Smith, Hartigan, Laird
C: seedsman, Thompson. Atkins
Hf: lynch, walker, Lyons
F: Cameron, Jenkins, Betts
R: Jacobs, m Crouch, Sloane
I: Cheney, Douglas, mackay, McGovern

Obviously Mackay is nowhere near it. Hendo is by far and away the better outside option and Rat has moved that far ahead on the inside/outside that it's a little silly. Will be interesting, but I like to think that we've moved past rushing Mackay in. Thommo in is a certainty unless he remains sore, which is doubtful. I doubt they'll upset the outside mix though.

I recognize the good McGovern does believe me, and I feel that he's an inch away from just looking like a star during a game, but I don't think a short rest is gonna hurt him.

I thought he was closer to breaking a game open this week than last. Kids a star and a Krunt of a match up. If we end up dropping him for a spud like Mackay then we're going nowhere. But I trust that we won't, maybe Menzel or Knight or someone else with a future.

Not while he's an inch away though. Like CC, he's starting to know he belongs. Kick straight and it all comes together. Let's not forget how quick this kid is and the defensive output he provides. Genuine star in the making.

This is a very intelligent side we have. Everyone knows their role. Milera is being carried and being told to learn from his opponents about getting around a park. Clearly we are not taking one week at a time. Jenkins admitted that in his after game interview. We're putting alot on beating West coast.

Rekon we could do with pace and a good reader of the play in for Henderson. some guy who once pushed a Selwood into ricciutto costing us a flag, racked up a few across half back in the magoos.

We beat West coast half forward line, we'll kick fifteen to twenty.

Depending on what the clubs plans are with Thommo ie whether there is an extended rest or it was only ever going to be this week , then Thompson in Douglas out. Leaves it a midfield move and doesn't impact on any other positions.

Henderson may find himself a benefit of a big win - minimal change policy

I think Thommo's first few weeks were very good. If they're confident, which they should be, that he'll return to peak form, then he plays. But he's only good for 3-4 games and I think the club is actually realising that.
