Prediction R12: Changes vs Adelaide

Looks like a good time to play the crows. Really should be selecting (and playing) to win this one.

Seriously need some players who are at least threatening 1v1 in our forward half.
Most sides aim to get there forwards isolated 1 on 1 and release the ball happily when this occurs, yet whenever we kick long to even numbers the defense prevails. Fyfe is the only one that looks seriously threatening and Walters does pose a threat (though can be easily outmarked if the kick is poor). Not really sure who to call up to fix this, but collingwoods forward line is just so much more threatening (despite this it was our midfield that lost us the game today.)

They're all capable crumbers and capable in the air and pose a serious threat everytime they get isolated. Our lack of these sorts results in the ball rebounding very easily when we move the ball without precision kick.

I do think it will be closer than the game against the Pies, but I just can't see how we are going to score enough goals or contain them, to a low enough score, especially if AP is out...

How does McCarthy not get a mention to be the omission for Matera? Kersten wasn’t perfect but thought he was decent for the first half.

Yeah McCarthy could use a spell also. He has really struggled since Tabs went down. I think he should play one with Apeness down there first though as I think it'll help his game immensely.

Duman's an interesting one, uses the ball very well and composed with the footy, but he's to skinny to stand up through any sort of tackle and defend in the air. For mine he should move to half forward/wing and Logue could come in as a defender who uses the ball well.
The more good kicks in the side the better (See what Walters does when delivering the ball) and if we can get them delivering inside 50 it'll make blokes like McCarthy look better.

On McCarthy, I know he was shocking and had taller timber around him, but I'd give him another week at least due to the change in position he would've had. Mundy spent huge amounts of time deep forward today and we played 2 ruckmen + Cox. He was the 4th tall which may suit him, but with a structural change that dramatic, it was always going to be hard work for A) him to know where to be and get there AND B) the mids to know where the forwards are.

Brandon Matera was one of Peel's best and was possibly the unluckiest to have been dropped. He comes back in.

Not sure on Sandilands, but you'd expect he's an in.

Those are the likely ins.

Jones the likely out and then not sure.

For the first part I looked at Adelaide's recent form. For the second part of it I confess I made some guesses and assumptions.

Sandi in for Jones, keep Apeness up forward.

Matera in, not sure for who but maybe if Pearce has a bad ankle you shuffle the deck a bit (e.g. Cox to defence).

It wasn't the kids who were shit, by and large.

When will Logue be considered to have sufficiently rehabed by our S&C geniuses? I want him and Apeness to play the rest of the year. It is literally the only light on the horizon, seeing what those two can do with a decent run of games. I have given up on Harley, which would obviously be the other one.

No one’s mentioned the possibility of a Fyfe suspension? If he’s out there’s no like-for-like so I’d just suggest Matera in.
