What I would do:

Out:
Draper, Taylor, Cumming

In:
Walker, Dowling, Edwards

Sub:
Pedlar or Dowling

Sure, I know Draper is a sexy, shiny new toy, but the reality is that he looks a mile off it. Having terrible coaches clearly doesn’t help. We can only play one of him or Berry in the 22 anyway, and despite a couple of blunders, Berry was in our best half dozen players today. If Draper stayed in as the sub it wouldn’t be a terrible decision, but I would just prefer to reward the legitimate form of Edwards and Dowling for this one.

I really rate Taylor as a player and he’s got some genuine smarts, but he’s being played in no man’s land and it doesn’t play to his strengths at all. Either change his role or drop him.

Cumming’s intensity level is pathetic. The reality is that he won’t be dropped, but he absolutely should be. Been horrendous for a month.

I don’t disagree with the calls to drop Laird, but I would marginally keep him in for this particular game, with clear instructions that if he screams at players 12m away to kick it to him, or executes dumb short passes himself, he will be dumped and never come back. His ground level stuff / ability to get away quick handballs is actually really needed back there so I hope he can actually listen to these instructions.

Pedlar is lucky to stay in. Despite his 2 goals from a metre out against a WAFL side, I didn’t think he really added anything and his skills remain deplorable.

Note: if there is even 1mm of rain forecast, Walker must remain out, and be replaced by Draper.

Walker for Taylor the obvious one.

Balancing the roles of Berry/Rachele/Keays/ANB/Pedlar will be a challenge as we might have one forward option too many once Walker comes back in, but nobody really warrants dropping.

Suspect one of Berry, Pedlar and Draper ends up sub and one ends up dropped.

Out: Taylor, Milera
In: Walker, Edwards

Nicks will probably just do Tex in for Taylor.
Good changes, but you are right that it will be Tex for Taylor.

We really do need to upgrade Milera.

Laird and Milera give us no drive, they play the easiest position on the field, should be providing us a lot more.

We need to fix this up pronto.
Both of them the first thing they do is look for the shortest pass possible they can make, even if it means ignoring the longer options that may be free.

Multiple times we ignored Curtin as a long option who was in a 1-1 from the D50 because we wanted to go short and push it around the interchange bench side of the ground, which Curtin was on the other side of.
