Forward Shelby Knoll will make her long-awaited AFLW debut against the Suns on Saturday afternoon.

Knoll made her long awaited return to football earlier this year after overcoming from her ACL injury, playing in a handful of practices matches with West Adelaide, as part of her return-to-football plan.

Now, she'll get her opportunity at the elite level to show off her goal kicking prowess, which she has honed throughout the season.

Richmond used its only selection (pick No. 24) in the AFLW Season Eight Supplementary Draft to recruit the former Castlemaine key forward.

Knoll was set to spend the 2023 season at VFLW club Casey Demons before the Tigers elevated her straight into the AFLW. Unfortunately, in October of 2023, she was struck down with an ACL injury, ending her debut season and ruling her out of last year's 2024 AFLW campaign.

A prominent goal kicker, Knoll booted 52 goals in 16 games in Castlemaine’s 2022 premiership side and has continued her improvement since joining the Tigers.

Since arriving at the Swinburne Centre, Knoll has impressed teammates with her marking ability, fitness and agility across the forward line including strong form at scrimmage level.

Richmond will host Gold Coast at IKON Park on Saturday from 3.05pm (AEDT). Tickets are on sale here.

Richmond has locked in its final team for the 2025 season, headlined by the much-anticipated debut of key forward, Shelby Knoll.

The former Castlemaine forward was selected by the Tigers with pick No. 24 in the AFLW Season Eight Supplementary Draft.

She made her long awaited return to football earlier this year after overcoming her ACL injury, playing in a handful of practices matches with West Adelaide, as part of her return-to-football plan, which has now earned her a crack at the highest level.

Knoll is the only addition for the clash against Gold Coast, replacing Lulu Beatty in the side for Saturday's match at IKON Park.

Excitingly, the Club will also celebrate three 50-gamers on Saturday, with Laura McClelland, Emelia Yassir and Poppy Kelly all reaching the milestone together.

Libby Graham, Bec Miller, McClelland, Beth Lynch and Katelyn Cox make up the back six.

The forward line will consist of Mackenzie Ford, Caitlin Greiser, Yassir, skipper Katie Brennan and debutant Knoll.

Ally Dallaway and Maddie Shevlin take their spots on the wing, with Sierra Grieves set to run through the centre. Ruck Kelly will be supported by Monique Conti and Grace Egan.

Making up the team on the interchange bench for the final time this season will be Kate Dempsey, Issy Bacon, Charli Wicksteed, Aoibhin Cleary and Paige Scott.

Beatty, Jodie Hicks and Lauren Brazzale make up the extended squad as emergencies.

So we have a tackling coach?

If so, move on buddy!
Too high too often...., also tackling with fingers too much, need to get forearms into the tackle so that wrists and fingers can act as the vice - our tackles get broken too often

Egan having a real presence today
Has had some better moments with the ball today. Always gets lots of it, it's just the value of it.

Interesting watching Paige Scott go into the ruck. Her combativeness is admirable, but it just needs a little more control. Don't mind it - but hasn't paid off yet. Laura Mc has to go back forward. Liked Brennan up the ground more, again, not really getting any payoff from it yet, but her class is better up the ground, because we are bereft of it.

How was that nice little dump and bounce kick by Clearly that got to her team-mate. Smart girl that one. Cox having a mare.
