Surely if the team has had to step in like this it shows they're internally aware of the push back.

I can only assume that will be all the ammunition and motivation that Murphy needs to finally notch up his second career 20 possession game and prove the haters wrong.
If he has a stinker and we get torched, they'll need to shut down the comments

Team sorted by games played.
He's just picked by games played, shame Crouch is injured!

Weights! Plenty >= 100kg, including Borlase. It must be the shoulders getting him there.

having a high disposal count means nothing if its garbage, not that I have watched any of murphy's footy. The thing that irks me is he is played in the mid in the 2s, but then comes in as a forward. He is taking up CBA that other younger players who are mids should be taking. Might not mean much, but murphy in the startling lineup over Rash would piss me off if I was Rash. Best month of footy for the club and murphy gets to be the starting half forward. joke.
Called it at the start of the year that playing him in the middle was purely to justify him having another position to be "next man up" as.

Amazes me that Murphy is a similar size to Rankine and Soligo. Plays much smaller and is easily shifted.

Smith wasn’t.
Pedlar wasn’t.
Murphy isn’t.
Yet here we are, all 3 playing.
Whether you like it or not, those 3 have stood out at every game of SANFL I’ve watched this year. It doesn’t necessarily mean they should be picked in the seniors, but all 3 have been a level above. I’ve actually been very disappointed with Draper, Schoey, Cook, Bond and Taylor when they’ve played. Dowling and Borlase have been pretty good to be fair but there honestly haven’t been many standouts.

Our Pick 4 isn’t getting near it at AFL level and should definitely be playing SANFL.

We can all see what he is capable of and it won’t be long until it all clicks.
He got two less touches than the guy we chose ahead of him in last week’s SANFL game

If you’re moving Rash/Keays/ANB into the midfield more, at least select Dowling

Not sure Murray gets straight back in. Butts has done a great job and we seem well balanced with his shutdown mentality against Keane aggresssion

Murray gets back in after one tune up as he is a massive upgrade on Butts (who is really just a depth option with no real scope to win a best 22 spot outright).

Our Pick 4 isn’t getting near it at AFL level and should definitely be playing SANFL.

We can all see what he is capable of and it won’t be long until it all clicks.
Our pick 4 is barely getting a crack and has shown AFL level moments.

Our number 4 gets all the cracks and disappears into them during the game.

It’s a nonsense. We have so many players that BOTH offer more now and with infinitely more upside.

It’s not even about Draper. Edwards, Dowling, Nankervis all better now and in the future.

Yeah nah. We're 13 odd rounds in. No SANFL player is really standing out as demanding AFL selection.
When they know they will not be selected this is no surprise. Why bother other than to shop yourself for an interstate team.

Disappointed if there wasn't an attempt to rectify the midfield given how open the year is feels like any team could win it. Either shoenberg and jones given a go or bring in Draper and Taylor on a flank and and move the flankers like Rachele to the middle.

Is Draper going to be the non-playing travelling emergency as the cherry on top?

🍒
Nicks says he’ll be playing a full game in SANFL team. They’ll take a couple of travelling emergencies as the SANFL don’t play until Sunday.

Surely if the team has had to step in like this it shows they're internally aware of the push back.

I can only assume that will be all the ammunition and motivation that Murphy needs to finally notch up his second career 20 possession game and prove the haters wrong.
Let’s hope he does! Prove us all wrong!

That's not true. Ditching a midfield rotation (which it seems like what we are doing) is an attempt to rectify the midfield situation. Versatility is neither a good or bad thing when it comes to footballing systems.

Mind you, Schoenberg, Jones and Taylor are even more of a waste of time selection than Murphy.

I’d try Murray as a forward option to replace Walker . Good leap , aggressive and has played up forward in his junior days.
Good recommendation. Murray could be a game changer with Thilthorpe, Fog, Dawson, Rankine, Rachele, Keays, ANB. Allows you to play Thilthorpe more in the ruck and Dawse more mid. Murray has a great leap and can smash packs. Get him in for Tex. Murray has pretty good pace so he will improve our defensive pressure in our forward half.

If you mean Murphy i think he'll play midfield as he had a good run of form through there a few years ago as midfield depth. But if you think he's playing as a forward how would reducing the amount of guys rotating through there help the midfield? 😃

Our Pick 4 isn’t getting near it at AFL level and should definitely be playing SANFL.

We can all see what he is capable of and it won’t be long until it all clicks.
Remember when you said Smith would only be selected for a game so Edwards wasn’t dropped after one game?

Your mental gymnastics to back in the club has gone up a notch
