Yep, 1 game in the SANFL. The same as Tex who came back from an ACL after a year.

As I outlined above, the Murray situation was different earlier in the year.

I know that it is is important to attribute everything that goes wrong to NDS or CDS but sometimes negative things happen.
What's Tex got to do with the price of eggs?

Funny how you refused to answer the question is posed! Bit of honesty is good for the soul...

Butts and Murray are much of muchness imo. You would have to back the club to make the right call. If they don't, that's the real problem.

Thanks for the medical analysis Doctor Kane.

He played well in the SANFL nearly two weeks ago. If the medical experts give him the go ahead I am inclined to trust their diagnosis over yours.

The situation is quite different to earlier in the season. Muzza jarred his knee in March and we were hopeful that it would come good with rest. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t. His knee required a clean out and there is no indication of a long term problem.

It is possible that he will injure himself again but that is as likely in the SANFL as the AFL.

After missing a year of footy with an ACL, how many games did Tex play in the Twos?

Quite ironic that you give someone a slap about being “doctor Kane” and then proceed to give a medical opinion on knees…

Muzza had some minor structural damage to his knee at the start of the season. After a period of rest he returned but his knee was still giving him problems. His form wasn’t great but it wasn’t awful.

He subsequently had some minor arthroscopic surgery and his doctor has declared that he is now good to go. Spending extra time in the SANFL is unlikely to alter the chance he will injure his knee again.

There is strong evidence that returning early from a ruptured ACL increases the probability of doing it again. Nevertheless, Tex was given 1 match in the SANFL and his knee has been fine ever since.

Some posters are so obsessed with blaming the club or Nicks for everything that goes wrong that their posts are sooo predictable.

CDS = Crows Derangement Syndrome
NDS = Nicks Derangement Syndrome

No complaints from me if Muzza plays in the Twos this week. I am happy to rely on the judgement of medical experts.

CGFIGJAMDS = Ciao Giacomo FIGJAM Derangement Syndrome

Ports doctors dont diagnose concussion and you put your trust in doctors

We all know your schtick - back the club in and when it goes pear shaped deride everyone for blaming the players poor performance when you instantly knew it was medical and still back the club in

Very silly trying to compare Tex to Murray.

Tex did his ACL in Rd 5 of 2013 coming off an amazing season. Had a clean surgery, great recovery and after 1 SANFL game came back in Rd 9 of 2014 and played the rest of the season (13 games) almost every single game for the next 4 years.

Murray did his ACL in Rd 19 of 2023 after his first decent season and came back Rd 14 of 2024. He then was subbed off with a knee injury in rd 19 of 2024 and missed round 20. This year he played the first two games and had a knee injury for a month. Came back for 2 games and hurt his knee again requiring Knee surgery.

Definitely understand why posters want to be more cautious with Murray's return considering he has missed 11 of the last 18 games with 3 separate knee concerns.

With the bash and crash kamikaze way Murray plays, the form Butts is in, and the quality of the opposition, there's no need to rush him back.

Peatling in, sounds like Pedlar will be a likely out.

You'd hope the chance to play on the MCG in anticipation of finals gives the selection committee enough incentive to play Draper or blood Edwards in case either are needed later in the year. We should be reverting to plan A and send Smith and Murphy back to the SANFL.

Only worry for this match is whether we come out of the bye freshened up or a bit flat. Richmond have shown they're capable of competing against sides that aren't fully switched on.

We have bad history against Richmond, albeit only a few games but they always hang in the back of my mind when we play them.

I'm driving over for this one praying we don't complacently shit it up.

We have a 26-18 win loss record against them, but all my memories are pretty negative.

Either wins that didnt matter or pretty devastating losses (2024,2017,2006).

We stared 6-0 smashing them every time 1991-1993. Hodges kicked 8 on them in 92. Modra kicks 10 and 13 against them in 93. We also smashed them by 100+ in 97. Jars kicking 7.

You picked the three that have stuck with me. We need to smash them and I'm anticipating after shaking them off we win this easily.

Famous last words. 😬
