Murphy being selected is a disgustingly poor selection. Firstly to name a poor player as an emergency smacks of Nicks refusing to budge from that pathetic squad within a squad ideology, honestly its ****ing pathetic and its holding us back. The media need to call it out. It clearly exists because he is resorting back to the same players every week.

Secondly, to have players like Dowling, Edwards, Ryan, Draper performing every week crying out for games and not even getting listed in the emergencys should be a red flag as to the direction Nicks is coaching us.

I have always said, Finals is one big waste of time if you dont approach it the right way. Finals 100% of the time exposes mediocrity and shit game planes. It always has and always will. A flat track bully never has a run in the finals unless they get lucky.

If you reward mediocrity in the name of experience all because as a coach you are afraid of losing and desperate to make finals for your own personal resume, those players will never get the incentive to work on their craft and take it to the next level. 2023 clearly taught Nicks nothing. We were operating at 50% win loss ratio and he selected the same side relentlessly. When the side finally cracked because of poor form and fatigue he brought in fresh players and they propelled us close enough for finals. So the big question is why is he doing it again?

I imagine the argument will be it's not naming Murphy as an emergency because he's next man up, but that the likely scenario is a player needs to not play this week, so Murphy takes the hit.

Emergency lists are structural as much as anything. It's why Burgess gets listed there every week.

Umderstand the point of an emergency list. But out of every player we have, Murphy is the best in that role? he isnt even in the top 35.

They'll have endless excuses they tell themselves. "Didn't want to bring in a debutant and have them immediately come out" "Murphy knows how to play his role" blah blah blah blah.

Truth is Nicks is just stubborn and is gonna ride this pony until someone takes it away from him.

Yeah of course, that's it.

Go to the changes thread and see where I suggest Murphy play, I think you'll be a while.

Must be dark in that basement

Have you ever heard of a discussion, it is a forum after all. If I am wrong in my post, maybe tell me why. Its not hard. Its a forum. This troll post I didnt deserve the best you can do?

It's a poor decision to bring him in, but im not going to rant and cry about it.

Funny you mention trolling, when thats exactly what you did to me.

I have never understood that excuse, dont want to play someone fresh for just one game. What if they play really well, dominate the position, get 25 touches. Nicks telling the world he doesnt want that to happen or he doesnt think it will and the debutante is assumed to be a failure first.

Doesn't want it to happen because then he may need to make a tough call. Either drop a kid who doesn't deserve it or tell a senior they've been displaced.

Any danger of learning from what McCarthy did at West Coast ?? The guy comes in after being picked up at the mid season draft, doesn’t know their system or structures and has looked great down back in a side getting pumped every week. We’ve had guys in our system that we used good draft picks on and refuse to give them a go.

What’s a “learning”?
