Replacing Rachele will be a really interesting call.

Do we go “like for like” and select a forward half player with high skill level and creativity? Cook or Nankervis might fit the bill.

Do we reward the most consistent SANFL player and shuffle someone from within today’s 22 into Rachele’s normal role? Jones or Dowling might then enter the discussion.

Do we finally debut Edwards? Does Draper get back in?


Considering Murphy is somehow finding a way to get even worse at football, we’ll have to make a minimum of 2 changes to the side. I presume Milera will be good to go so he’s one of them (which will free up Max to play up forward on Bailey Dale

). For me, Dowling probably makes the most sense as the 2nd in, as he offers genuine versatility.


It remains to be seen whether or not Taylor holds his spot. When he kicked that goal I thought he was a lock. When he had an absolute horror moment in the 4th quarter (mixed in with 0 good moments), I thought maybe not.


Smith outplayed both Laird and Hinge for mine so he’s safe.

Walker is someone I would always take to Marvel.

Nick Murray is starting to bang the door down but I still don’t think we can drop Butts, or play all 3 of Butts, Keane and Murray in the same side, and do we really want to bring Murray back for a Marvel game on a 6 day break? No is the clear answer.

I think Pedlar for Murphy, Milera for Rachele..would also consider bringing in Murray for Tex (rest)..but they would never do something original..Cook, Jones, Dowling and Edwards also deserve a go, but why add to depth..
