Hey man, I was just trying to raise the bar a bit.
Succeeded :thumbsupv1: :grinv1:.
Football, Shakespeare, Chardonnay and Holden Cars <== would make a decent song ...
So while we're getting revved up, let's aim for a classic that the team can use to beg for some kind of direction from Nicks tomorrow.

From Point Break, the greatest philosophical discourse of the modern Era
Point Break? Never watched it. Never will.

You want great Philosophical Discourse eg on Life-and-Death topics like Piercings, Foot Massage and whether a dog or a pig is a filthy animal?? Read the Screenplay of Pulp Fiction (coolest movie, ever):
"Hey, a sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie. But I'll never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy mother****ers. Pigs sleep and root in shit. That's a filthy animal. I ain't eatin' nothin' that ain't got sense enough to disregard its own faeces".
Personally, I like Pork --- bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood.

I can tell you've got personality.
Personality goes a long way.
I'm hoping the Crows show some personality tomorrow and tame the Dogs.

Bigfooty ‘back in young players ‘

Also bigfooty ‘ drop them after a quiet game ‘

Pies have heaps of ordinary players that get backed in and selected when side is winning

Nicks is backing in his talent re Taylor and now it’s up to him

The negativity on this board is astounding at times

If we lose next 2-3 in a row I’ll get negative too
The problem is Jeff you’ll probably find that these are by different posters.

After tonight I am certain they will

Yes they lost but they were dead and buried and they made a game of it. Thats belief
It is, but same could be said for the Suns.

They did what very few sides have been able to, and thats hold off Collingwood after being headed late.

And without Touk Miller for the 2nd half

Good changes. Cook gets another chance and in form. Taylor deserves some more time to play a role in the team and Jones is also in form, can play all over the ground and is the type that could come on and make an impact as sub, presuming that is where he is placed. Whilst different players, Cook or Taylor could end up being that 7th forward replacement for Rachele, with a bit of time on a wing as well. Best to find out by playing both.

Smith has been pretty good this season, but rightly makes way for Milera. They could have easily left Smith in instead of Taylor, Jones or Cook, but I'm glad they've gone the way they have for the reasons mentioned above.

Hope Golumless is ok, critical game and we’re playing our sh!t depth instead of Murphy.

It doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence, as it's going to be tough with only five forwards worth a damn with Rachele out.

After all, they're all shit depth (including Murphy) and it's been a ticking timebomb for this side for a good portion of this year.

You need to setup at the Fringe next year

Ugly:

Would be nice if someone would tell Tex not to try to pass the footy when he has a fairly basic set shot. Show some ****ing leadership ffs.

That didn’t bother me too much, the option was there, he just missed it.

I don’t think Tex has the range he once had, I’m pretty comfortable to back him to know what he can and can’t do and when he needs to pass

Obviously not as good in the Twilight of his career but hIs positives still easily outway his negatives. Played well today. Some people on this board are ****wits who have no idea.

First quarter when he kicked to nobody. Looked 35m. Maybe 40m. Still easily in his range. Who as he even kicking to? It landed in space with nobody near it.
He was trying to set someone up in a better spot but missed the pass, big deal.

Did you see the precise kick off one step on the wing that set up our first goal? Probably not.

I'm not normally one for "drop them after a quiet game", and I hate the general "Chicken Little sky is falling" attitute of this board. But Taylor's contribution in 70% of ToG vs Melbourne was a goal in the 2nd or 3rd quarter and a couple of turnovers in the last quarter. Outside of that I barely even saw him on screen. It was like he was wherever the ball wasn't.

That was compared to Murphy, who you noticed was playing, but seemed to be trying to actively hinder his team's chances of winning with his actions.

Yesterday's game was much better from Taylor. In particular there was one contest in the forward line halfway through the 3rd quarter where Taylor was 1 vs 3. He brought the ball to ground from the marking contest, then kept his feet and forced Coffield out of bounds. That forced a throw in that allowed us to lock the ball in the F50 and eventually led to a Thilthorpe goal to push the margin back out to 3 goals just as the Bulldogs were coming back.

Today they did, but it was under the roof, and the Dogs transition defence is not as good as some other sides so he was able to benefit from a lot of clean ball movement.

Against the Pies and Lions when the game was a bit more chaotic and more of a territory game, I feel we were a bit too big in the forward line, and Tex’s lack of speed and agility at this age gets exposed a little.

I’m not sure that Thilthorpe, Fogarty and Tex all in the same forward line will work in finals. I think we need to at least have a look at how a smaller forward line works in the games against GC, Hawks or Pies.

Collingwood got exposed by the talls against the Suns.

The tall forward setup will work if we win the midfield battle, and Tex is too clever to not have him play in finals.

Them old Collingwood legs at the end of a tough season might be a factor

If we were less obsessed with getting him to 300 games and were managing him better over the season his form would probably be more consistent and ready for the finals.
