I think that this is really telling for the direction of the club with these inclusions, us not defaulting automatically back to experienced players.
This has to be the inclusion of Davis and Balme into the selection committee, I have no doubt Nicks would've fought hard over the last couple of weeks to bring in Murphy and Smith as known quantities, however you would think he has either conceded or the others have put the foot down in having Taylor starting on the field, Pedlar, Nank & Bond in the squad surely now shows that they have moved past those two (Murphy & Smith).

They're both out of contract and were given multiple chances to cement a spot and earn a new contract and I am hoping that its all now done. Thanks both for your service, all the best.
I heard Nicks was about to March into Dawsons midfield meeting with VB to drop him for Murphy but Balme said “no” and distracted Nicks with a lollipop.

Then Davis locked Nicks in the conference room with a tape of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Ninja Turtles 2: The secret of the ooze” while the real coaches planned for the Gold Coast game.

He was asleep under the table when they came in later.

I had no idea that was Jeff White. I subscribed to his channel a while ago because his analysis was so interesting.

yeah a couple of his vids had popped up previously and there is no way I would have thought it was him

Had to look up some photos of him from his playing days and yeah, side by side I can see it is him, but never would have picked it

My 2c is that had Cumming had been underwhelming until last week

He was actually underwhelming for three quarters of last week's match. Just had an absolute blinder of a Q1. From memory, he had 9 touches and a goal in the first quarter, and then 5 touches and no goals for the next three quarters combined.

On the whole, he's been good without being great. Certainly an upgrade on the Jones/Sholl/Hamill types we've used in that role previously.

After Butts went down he was moved to defence. He played on a few different opponents and none of them had much influence. I was hoping that he would take more of a rebounding role but that was not the case.

What he does is usually very good (kicks into F50, defence etc) but if he can average 20 disposals a game and Curtin does this as well, we will be a genuine chance for the flag.

Yes, I'm always confident when he has the ball in hand. I'd love to see him get a bit more of it, but it seems that in any given game we pick one wing and work down that one 90% of the time.

He is living the dream. I'd do that job in a heartbeat

I think the odds for this game are massively overselling us, Gold coast out to $3+ is crazy to me.

I think we really need to be able to dominate you in the midfield to have any chance. And I don't think that will happen. If the ball even gets a sniff at entering your forward 50, it will result in a score more often than not with our injuries.

A lot of people are overplaying the fact that we went in to the Collingwood game with pretty much the same back 6 and kept them goalless for a half - The reality of that situation is Collingwood defended themselves . . . They were 0-10 at one stage.

All the best. Hopefully we can keep the game competitive and can meet again in the pointy end for the tiebreaker game

It's entirely possible we do the same. We have done, in fact. It's why we lost to Hawthorn. That and we decided going ultra defensive was the way to go.

We could revert to that kind of form. Let's hope not.

The Crows need ROB to at least breakeven with Witts for once, otherwise you guys will get the advantage of the taps (again).

ROB has been Witts bitch for way too long... until he corrects that, we will always have a seed of doubt going in.

You lost me there, you're not distracting anyone with that film unless they're a hardcore Vanilla Ice fan.

Gold Coast have lost their best key defender, are away from home + we're in good form.

Seems reasonable to me that we'd go into this one as the genuine favourite. It's a "get it done" game.
