No Game Day thread @ 0700 ACST? I'll bite, with PUNishment.

Revenge for Round 4 today will be sweet. The Suns are depleted by injury with important defenders out.

Willyweather predicting some showers around noon and twilight might make things slippery.
Crows will be too good today; too slick, too quick.
8+ goal win.

In reality any win will do.

If I wanted to describe my perfect day it'd be Thilthorpe with another bag, Andrew to get a bath and Matt Rowell to bowl over an umpire.

Soligo having a big game would be handy too.

Oh, and Murray to get through.

It’s important to make Adelaide Oval a fortress again. This means a lot of things including a crowd that intimidates the Suns. It’s also important to play competitive tough footy against top 8 teams to prepare us for finals, regardless where we finish.

2023/2024 crows would absolutely bottle this one, be down by 40 points at some stage.

We seem to have passed that point as a team, thank **** but let's see whether we can make a statement.

Win and keep pressure on Lions for 2nd spot (!), lose and we're down in the dumps with 5 other teams.

Massive game today, we need to win this to maintain our 1 game gap on the chasing bunch. Suns have been in good form too, so we can't take this lightly. Should be a good match up, I'm thinking it will be close but we will get up by 2-3 goals.

The Suns beat Collingwood last week without Collins and with Touk missing most of the game so this will not be a walk in the park.

They have a fantastic midfield but our forwards should get the job done if we can get close to breaking even in the stoppages. After the last 7 years we will continue to feel very nervous with games like this. I will be happy with a one point win, anything more will be a bonus.

The numbers were largely in the Pies favour last week, they just bottled it by going 0.10 to start. It was 8.5 to 4.2 after that in just under a half of footy. We just need to make sure our stoppage game is on and as long as we take our chances in the ways Collingwood couldn't we should be able to pull out a 3-4 goal win at a minimum.

Line is at 20 points, 3 goals seems about right. But whatever gets us the 4 points will be enough.

Witts, Anderson, Rowell

vs

ROB, Dawson, ???

Who's our 2nd best mid? Maybe it's a strength that there is a bit of a spread here - Soligo, Peatling, Berry, Rankine. Do GC lean a little heavier on their stars than we do?

Maybe I'm underselling some of their midfield crop

Pies were rife with flu and still nearly stole it after being 7 goals down

A must win for both sides. I expect it to be a battle and there is a good chance this game will decide a top 4 finish going into the finals. The Suns have never made the finals. Also these teams could meet again in the finals as well.

The forward line needs another big game and we need to try to avoid giving away goals from free kicks, one of our weaknesses.

Adelaide do have some tough ones ahead (esp Hawks on prime time and Pies) but in the last 2 weeks have prevailed in hard fought games. I expect this evening to be the same.
