Johnson makes sense. Bombers have Daniher, Hooker and Stewart in their forward line. Also Johnson will be the third tall defender role which is his bread and butter. It might mean Stewart gets loose though..

Plus he can ruck allowing Tabs to stay up forward.

I think we'll get hurt in open play, kids still learning where to run to defend. Probably have players getting out the back like last week. We might win clearances to stay competitive.

Interested to see the change in ball use with the turnover kings out and 3 gun kicks coming in.

I must be the only person who is not thrilled to pieces with the changes. I feel we are lacking some defensive skills in defence (Hamling will help of course) and lacking grunt around the ball. I would have preferred to see Duman or Nyhuis to defence, Connor to the midfield and one of the first years miss out.

It's definitely a weakness dockerfemme. With Logue injured, Hughes still not quite ready and Duman and Nyhuis considered not good enough it does leave us 1 hbf short and while he plays well there, Blakely is much, much better as a midfielder!!!

I don’t know about retirement home but you’re right in that it must be tough to motivate yourself when you have 3 premiership medallions to your name st such a young age
Let’s not forget he had a great season last year and won the Doig.. had a shocking game last week but I don’t doubt his professionalism and motivation will come through soon.

Deriding BHill for a below par first game back from injury is ridiculous. I don’t think his brother will be much better this week. Having said that, I think we should have all players gain touch with Peel first, no matter their star status. This preferential treatment is a bit self defeating when they aren’t much chop the first few games they come back.

Everyone looked laconic last week.. Your grasping at straws.

Not just last week, I understand his injury but his attitude for us overall. Yes he won our F&B but not alot of competition. No denying he is good but with that comes expectations.

No the guys not hungry or driven, he cruises, thats my point he doesnt dig in when the team needs it. Righteo is right but thats not an acceptable excuse.

I'm not thrilled, but for different reasons. Namely that we've gone back to playing a small forward line which has proven ineffective time after time after time. Not looking forward to Taberner having 2 opponents all day.

Brad hill rarely has a bad day. I don't think you can put him in the crab pot yet.

No one, and I mean no one worked harder last year than Brad Hill. He absolutely busted his gut in every game. You are soo far off the mark its not funny.

Hill worked to the point of exhaustion every single game. He did 100m sprints time and time again to create an option.

Your call is completely off the mark.

Dry as chips CD and enjoy the humour ;)

Think Essendon only cause they are on the up and we havnt quite got to that yet. Think Freo have got the selection spot on to have a good chance against them. Very happy to have both Chez and Mitch in and Brayshaw and Banfield get another game. :thumbsu:

Didn't Richmond win a premiership last year whilst playing 1 tall in their forward line?

Bit of a difference between Tabs and Riewoldt though.

We've also got McCarthy who's the same height as Riewoldt anyway so by Richmond standards we've got 2 talls. Don't know what he's worried about.

So for weeks (years) some have bleated that Kersten isn't a tall. Now he's dropped we're a tall short.

Consistency rules.

Kersten takes up a tall spot in the forward line (we aren't playing Tabs, McCarthy, Kersten + another genuine tall) but doesn't have the height/contested marking to effectively play as a KPF in our long bomb heavy gameplan. I personally am fine with the smaller forward line provided we can hit up targets although we haven't done that in years.

You only have to see his username to know you can discount absolutely everything written after it.
