If Cerra and Crowden get to mark and kick between the arcs then we might be, very talented players.
Agree if they are looking for accurate delivery inside 50 these are the players you want. Neither wastes a possession and Crowden also gives the added hardness and forward pressure. Cerra adds the silk.

People bagged Matthew Llyod for suggesting bringing Cerra in. The very next day Cerra is named to debut. People bagging Lloyd looking a bit silly right now, especially as the point he was making was absoutely spot on.
And people suggesting our rebuilds an abject failure and we're doomed to Melbourne/Carlton levels for the next 5 years off the basis of our first game of the season seem silly to me but each to their own

No-one is suggesting anything on the basis of out first game in 2018 so your whole post/accusation is irrelevant.

What did he say about Pearce and MJ?

Assuming Hill, Hamling, Cerra and Crowden are ins.
Then I recon out go D. Pearce and Sutty but who else? Hopefully not Banfield.

Hill and Hamling coming into the team are very likely to improve it. I will be pleasantly surprised if Cerra plus another debutante can make meaningful contributions.
Our forward structure requires a decent mobile tall who can share the 2nd ruck duties with Taberner. Kersten doesn’ t cut it, Darcy is too immobile. Cox? Johnson? Apeness soon I hope.

tuckers 12 disposals ran at 100% disposal efficiency on the weekend. I would rather him line up and hit targets then someone who can’t and causes a turnover goal I will be disappointed if he is in the gun.

He is close to the best kick on our list imo. It is up to us to find a role that he thrives in. The more possessions from guys like him the better.

We’re in really deep shit if Matthew Lloyd is picking our team.
I’ve never got any idea what Tucker’s role in the team is supposed to be. Beautiful kick yes. I just wish he could do more of it.

S Hill for D Pearce
Cerra for Sutcliffe
Hamling for Johnson
Darcy for Kersten
Crowden for Ballantyne

Depends on how we want to structure up but not against playing 2 rucks. Will really free Taberner and Cam up as long as they can put on enough pressure. Crowden is a tackling machine and is the future: should replace Ballas.

If Mundy is not fit then Ballas or Sutcliffe to keep their spot. Or Kersten is Darcy isn’t in.

Saw comments on somewhere earlier in the day. I think it was more about suggesting that Logue should be playing when he doesn't know he's on the injury list.

I just watched Lloyd's comments myself. In fairness he did say about Cerra he should be thrown in "as soon as he's ready", and he said we were a bottom four side based on the performance against Port Adelaide.

There may be some doubt over Brad Hill’s fitness.
Although he didn’t look to be carrying anything his game wasn’t great. Perhaps the comment from Ross about possibly another debutant after Cerra is in the event Brad fails a fitness test.

Out: Ballas
In: LOLOLOLOLOLZ @ anybody suggesting Ballas will be dropped!

He was far from bad on the weekend. He’s got at least another week. He’s only 1 goal off being our leading goal kicker for the year, is equal second for tackles and sixth for pressure acts. Sounds pretty elite to me.

#ourdarlingballantyne

In: Cerra, Hamling, SHill
Out: D Pearce, Sutcliffe, Kersten

Johnson stays in to help Hamling and AP counter Daniher, Hooker and Stewart but is told to stay right away from kick ins - only Wilson and Ryan to be licensed for this role!

Crowden to come in the following week for Ballas or Tucker if they’re quiet again for a second week. Ballas at least adds pressure and Tucker is generally clean with his disposal. As much as I’m desperate to see Crowden, I also want Tucker to be given an extended run at it. Johnson could also go if he sucks two weeks in a row and we go back to a smaller structure for GC.

Our inside mids (incl. Fyfe and Neale) are also reminded that they’re expected to tackle when they attend stoppages not just rack up clearances.

He does when they play him in the right position. Killed it when the Hills were absent in JLT2.

The other mids also need to feed it to him more often. Nothing more infuriating when our good kicks are bypassed to bomb it in. I would choose Tucker kicking i50 over pretty much anyone except Stephen Hill.

Purple Eyes, I am so glad you commented on Sutcliffe's last quarter effort to prevent a certain Port goal.

You said:

... but at least he now gets a bit of the footy and shows some desperation and effort (eg. his sprint and dive on the goal line to prevent a goal on the weekend)...

In the dying minutes of the game and especially when fatigue has set in, this goal-stopper was pretty impressive.
