Agree and based on his goal song selection, he knows it too.Smith is a long way from selection.
Funny guy chose the Angels - am I ever going to see your face again.

Shaky backlines are what we like. We have the best forward line in the league. No Ridley in an already very shaky backline is very good news.
Yeah, no way that wasn't deliberate, he would have chosen it so that if he comes in for a send off game and kicks a goal, hilarity will ensue.Agree and based on his goal song selection, he knows it too.

"No way, go vote for Gough"Yeah, no way that wasn't deliberate, he would have chosen it so that if he comes in for a send off game and kicks a goal, hilarity will ensue.
Won't work... the sub is not meant to be used for player management of 1 player... meant to be used to cover for early injuries and it's pretty rare that we don't get injuries throughout the season. Not too mention it severely restricts options to adapt to games.I can get around us starting Tex in basically every game and subbing him once every 4-5 like yesterday. With 1-2 games rest through the year. Seems like the best way to manage him. And if he's flying during a game, we just don't sub him.
Who is he replacing?Wouldn’t mind getting pedlar in the side at some stage, but that’s probably a couple of weeks away.
We have plenty of wingers now... perform our be dropped!Lining up behind Sholl are Pedlar and Nank, hopefully Ryan soon too, and Jones. Wing spots are pretty specialist though, so not ready to drop Sholl yet, but my fear is he will go missing in winter.
He and the club have already said he'll be rested.I'd say it's a bit early in the year to be resting Tex. He won't be rested until we're at least a few rounds in, if at all.
Does Curtin turn 28 this year?If that was the case then Curtin is clearly the player we drop. Makes us unbalanced with talls and has minimal impact out there

Has anyone kept an eye on the Essendon board? They are very confident they will win this weekend. Already a foregone conclusion which is the polar opposite of ours. Strange how fans rate their teams.
Essendon played pretty well Friday night I thought, Hawks just too good for them. However, losing Ridley and Langford tips this into a game we should be winning (Langford was very important for them in our game last year). Nik Cox was annoying against us last year too and still missing. No Parish or Wright either.I agree but also got a bad feeling
I was at the game and tend to agree, Essendon hardly disgraced themselves against a team gunning for top 4. They were always thereabouts if a little less polished, and Hawthorn had an answer every time they pegged them back.Essendon played pretty well Friday night I thought, Hawks just too good for them. Thats a tough one and obviously depends on his form, but at the bottom of the pile in the 22 is sholl, curtin at this point, Tex, laird & milera.Who is he replacing?
Yeah, I think Tex should get rested. Turns 35 in a month, we should prioritise getting games into Curtin.Thats a tough one and obviously depends on his form, but at the bottom of the pile in the 22 is sholl, curtin at this point, Tex, laird & milera.
Some of those would need shuffling to accommodate him.
Only reason I feel a bit more confident is the Langford and Parish outs, two players that have torched us many times in the past. Ridley is their biggest structural loss though, they really don't have any great matchups for RT, Fog or Tex.I was at the game and tend to agree, Essendon hardly disgraced themselves against a team gunning for top 4. Definitely not a walk in the park Saturday.
They have million dollar man McKay.Only reason I feel a bit more confident is the Langford and Parish outs, two players that have torched us many times in the past. Ridley is their biggest structural loss though, they really don't have any great matchups for RT, Fog or Tex.
He’s great, love him alreadyFxxkn Curtin better stay in the side.
Play him on a wing/in the middle and have him rest forward when tex is on the bench.. then sub tex off for a speedy player and put curtin permanently forward from that point of the game till the final siren..
Simply gotta play the kid.. pump games into him and expect he has some struggles. Hes just a kid ffs. A 198cm one!!!… he’ll take time.
I'm amongst his biggest haters but laird was good in the weekend. No way he's getting dropped.I would also drop Laird or Milera and bring in Nank. But we don't live in that world. We live in the world where they look at Laird's nothing touches and call that a job well done.
Jye Caldwell is no slouch now he seems to have his body right.Shut down Merrett, he is the only one capable of putting them in a winning position.
Surely a perma-ban??I dislike this post x1000000000
I thought that showed a lot of maturity with a wicked sense of humour, actually.Agree and based on his goal song selection, he knows it too.
