Will take at least 5 years to fix dodoros stain on this club. Longer if we are being realistic.

agree - but why didn't they? That's what I suggest is the coaching and leadership failureThe players are supposed to be professionals, and I'd say that effort is unconditional. Scott may not be the best coach but that doesn't excuse the players from giving 100% every time they pull on the jumper.
Well you know full well why.You are correct but they were in a gf and then rebuilt.
The bombers are continuous flounders unfortunately

If there’s one ****ing thing, just one, that I want Scott to sort out before any other, it’s the easy transitions and a leaky defensive set-up. Year after ****ing year, we moan about the lack of defensive accountability and structure, yet here we are, many years on, and nothing has changed.
People wonder what our club stands for. What’s our cultural soul? Well I can tell you that it’s unaccountability. There’s no edge, no soul, no spirit. We can keep blaming youth, poor drafting, and the saga for where this team is at but none of that would be a concern if we actually showed some accountability on the field.
The Unaccountable Essendon Bombers.
Totally agree. What’s our identity? When you play the Bombers, what’s the non negotiable you’ll get? St Kilda suck, but you know you’ll get a stingy defence. GWS you know they will run you ragged. Carlton are all about the contest… wtf are we? 3 years in, I swear to god if he talks about professional standards I’ll vom.If there’s one ****ing thing, just one, that I want Scott to sort out before any other, it’s the easy transitions and a leaky defensive set-up. You mean getting pumped by a South Australian team? maybe Richmond want to be like us.I want to go the Richmond route badly.
Both his drafting and overly generous contract extensions. Will take at least 5 years to fix dodoros stain on this club. Longer if we are being realistic.

Have to credit Adelaide as well though. Their game was to play on quickly and have plenty of overlap run, and their skills gave them a excellent basis to support this. They played a similar style last year but they execute it better now. We're not quick enough to match them and we don't seem fit enough.Try to be a little positive: kick a 100 points, Merrett was good and edwards/Kako 5 goals.
But yeah, something went wrong with the defensive game today. 59 marks to the crows 129. 20 marks inside 50 for them and they also won the tackle count 48 to 59, while having more disposals. Probably on the midfield here for been lazy, putting the back 6 under huge amount of pressure.
Most disappointing is other clubs figuring it out. Adelaide where bottom 4 last year...How long are we going to be stuck in the mud?
They were, but many of the experts in the media had tgem pencilled in as finalists at the beginning of the year. Most disappointing is other clubs figuring it out. Adelaide where bottom 4 last year...How long are we going to be stuck in the mud?
yes, I did too. Felt bad for him when he got pinged for the play on call from McGrath's kick in. Looked unsupported, McGrath very slow to react and back up.I enjoyed Archie Robert's second half. He was everywhere in the backline. Tried really hard to give us a spark when others were incapable.
I wouldn't say 'full of', but yeah, there are heaps. As with most professional sports - people far, FAR too willing to stick the boot into coaches than players that dole up the same piss weak performances week in week out. What an absolute basket case of a club we are, with a list chock full of plodders with pea hearts
I agree about Sheil. Time to put him and maybe a few others out to pasture, and give a go to anyone else. If we're going to lose then we may as well see if any of the others from the seconds have it in them to step up.Nice day out in the sun with the son, but jeez the football was dreadful.
There's no real positives there, although a few guys did try their best.
It's not always the greatest indicator but we looked very pedestrian in the warm ups and that really did carry over into the game. There was no pressure and no run, especially trying to bring the ball out of the backline. It's so frustrating to see that we still have no semblance of transition defense and teams can just walk the ball down the field untouched.
The unforced errors and lack of being able to do the fundamentals of football were alarming. Simple handballs and 20-25m kicks are missing by a mile, even when there's no pressure.
They get little to no support, but our backline was putrid today. I don't think a single one of them came even close to breaking even with an opponent.
If we are going to get rolled by 10 goals anyway there really isn't much point in playing Shiel, so let's start getting games into some others.
Not sure what skill set we were hoping to get from Prior.
Well given I saw most of the match sims I can refute the claim. They played two uneven match sims with younger guys mainly on one side and both times it was not for 4 quarters. One was a half in a 4 quarter sim and the other was 2 quarters in a 6 quarter sim. At some stage you have to play the young guys up against the better ones to give them an idea of the level needed. The whole possible v probable is a furphy. The sides where often swapped around after a quarter.Probably as long as we keep playing possibles vs probables
Couldn’t agree moreWell you know full well why.
Problem is Essendon people convinced the new Coach and CEO there was unfulfilled potential when there was not and it took almost 2 seasons before it was obvious we needed another rebuild.
May have been different if we could have hired a coach that had done a deep dive into the list and not hired one on the basis the list was okay and just underperforming.
