I like Taylor, but he just doesn't get it enough to have an impact.
I used to think the same thing about Berry (and Fogarty too - but he played a very different role). Berry is having a breakout year in 2025, and is now impacting games far more regularly than he did in the past.

Taylor doesn't have the fitness to play full-time in the midfield, but if we persist with him he may break out too (2026 more likely than 2025 now), becoming more than just the "role player in the last 4 players picked" that he is now.

I said earlier this season, there are moments in a game when you go : yep, it's our day today. That happened inside the first 15 seconds on Saturday night, with Bergman kicking it to Fog, and again in the 3rd when ROB kicked a checkside.

Our defence is rock solid. 3 tall forwards shouldn't really work in the wet, but all of them are so good below the knees that it did work. Glad we didn't let up in the last and really buried them, but still put our stars on ice for the last 10.

Gonna miss Kenny.

He does at least use the ball well and is very composed in traffic, plus we don't have anyone really threatening to take his place so I don't see any reason to get rid of him at the moment. I just worry about the future of players who can't find the footy into their third or so season and beyond. Key position players somewhat excepted.

😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

January 25 nice try but no cigar tryhard.

Long long long before Crouch copped his latest injury and you know it.

There is no way Matt comes in anytime soon and then it would only be if we cop injuries to our current starting mids.

Unlike some I've always rated Sam Berry and now people are starting to see the burst speed I'd seen as a junior....one day you'll likely see the hops I've spoken about also now he has the confidence to take the game on.
I think Berry is exactly the kind of midfielder for the gameplay Nicks wants - strength around the contest, which leads to pressure and turnovers.

Berry's breakout season was 2022, physically cooked in 2023 (I recall him saying there were changes to his training in the preseason) and somehow started fumbling all of a sudden middle of last year. This year he is back to not fumbling and add even more burst of speed which he always had, also seeing a few of his leaps.

Coaches’ votes: Round 20 vs Port Adelaide

10 Riley Thilthorpe ADEL
8 Jake Soligo ADEL
4 Ben Keays ADEL
3 Alex Neal-Bullen ADEL
2 Daniel Curtin ADEL
2 James Peatling ADEL
1 Rory Laird ADEL
Good.
Also very happy to see NO votes for no-impact superFLOG, Butters.

50 disposals mean nothing if your team gets done by 16 goals.

Back in 2022 he was a tackling machine, but that was pretty much his whole game. Now he's offering a LOT more than he has in the past, now that he's started using his explosive power away from the contest.

I :heart:loved:heart: that goal!!
