I've felt exactly the same. It's just our last 2-3 players are potential weak spots compared to nearly all the others.
I agree also that nobody has performed well enough to secure these spots. Maybe Cook?

Strongly agree about Pedlar. Worryingly little impact. He just can't get near it which is unfortunate but his tackles are also low.
It's because he's the last to react. By the time he gets to the action, its gone.

Is he already exceeding what we thought was his ceiling? He's taking his game to a level where he's in discussion for best player in the league imo. Didn't think he would ever be such a dominant player all over the ground.

Take a valium.

He has 4 career games where he has gotten the pill 20+ times. 3 of those 4 games were in 60 point demolitions.

I don't think Thilthorpe has ever had 20, pretty sure his 19 on the weekend was a career high

Watching on TV, I was gutted that he missed. I reckoned that the Filth would have been completely demoralised if Fog had kicked it. I needn't have worried.
In all honesty, I think he was a bit in shock and he wasn’t fully focused on kicking the goal

Yeah but TT is also:

#7 for total goals
#3 for contested marks
#5 for marks inside 50
#6 for Goal Assists

In the whole AFL.

Have been following your posting for a while - so feel its 50/50 whether you are that thick or just trying to be antagonistic.

Terrible post either way.

What are you talking about, the original post you quoted was about Thilthorpe? He's never had the ball 20 times

I said earlier this season, there are moments in a game when you go : yep, it's our day today. That happened inside the first 15 seconds on Saturday night, with Bergman kicking it to Fog, and again in the 3rd when ROB kicked a checkside.

Our defence is rock solid. 3 tall forwards shouldn't really work in the wet, but all of them are so good below the knees that it did work. Glad we didn't let up in the last and really buried them, but still put our stars on ice for the last 10.

Gonna miss Kenny.

Good calls

And our 3 tall defenders
Keane is a Mudder
Worrell is a Mudder
Muzzas mudda was a mudder

why do we all still have a hard on for disposal numbers?

One of the best things about the way we run as a team now is we aren't so obsessed with massive disposal numbers like in the Crouch (x2), Thommo etc eras. It's evenly spread and most importantly they aren't junk disposals, they actually count and make an impact. Give me 14 from Cumming over 25 from Sholl any day of the week.

Seriously, check this out (sound up)

This is a full replay from a stoppage deep in defence to Thilthy's left foot goal

I didn't notice it before. Fog's 1 handed pick up at half back, swings around and handballs to Keays who kicks to Walker on the wing. Who swings around and kicks it to Thilthy at half forward

yeah the wet weather really impeded Fog, Tex, and Filthy

There's an argument the wet actually helps Tex and to a lesser extent Fog in that it slows everyone down to their pace whereas they maintain their advantage in strength and skills
Im not sure historically Tex's better games correlate with wet weather though.

It's a nice theory, but no games spring to mind to back it up for me

Fog's not slow though, certainly a lot quicker than Tex these days, Fog's burst speed is pretty good for a big unit especially when his mindset is the fast lead and not wrestling with his opponents, skills wise by foot they're both sublime users.

Was interesting to see Tex leave the ground ball for Fog when they both had an opportunity last Saturday.

Yes, Fog is much quicker as has age on his side.

The question isn't really whether he plays better in the wet, so much as whether his performance drops off less than other KPFs when playing in the wet.

Fogarty is quick. It's his turning circle that is the problem moving around the ground. (Also I suspect he's entered a "played through an injury when he shouldn't have" downturn like in late 2023).

Walker is probably even less agile. But does not need to change direction often due to being able to handball and kick on both sides of his body.

The question isn't really whether he plays better in the wet, so much as whether his performance drops off less than other KPFs when playing in the wet.
Or if his performance drops off less than the defender next to him.

I think it’s more a matter of him not trying to bite off too much with his disposal. In the dry he sometimes tries to be a bit showy, whereas he keeps it simpler in the wet
