I'm looking forward to seeing how Mitchell coaches this game. Its a GF for them so I don't think he'll hold back whatever tactics he thinks will get them the win, unlike most years when good coaches keep things up their sleeve until finals.

Will be interesting to see if we pass the test.

We need dry this weekend imo.
Regardless of what you or I think we "need", the weather always has a mind of its own :sneaky: .
I thought we needed dry conditions to belt Port but under Noah's Ark conditions we annihilated them.

At the very least, it'll be dewy/slippery this Friday night.
We're a better side than we were in Launceston with decent cover for Michalanney
+
we're in very good form.

What we need is to replicate the 4-quarter efforts of the last 3 wins.
When we do, the pressure builds and builds irresistibly and we win.

Interesting because ANB was talking up Edwards on Five AA so I was wondering if the club was heading that way this weekend.
I feel we should have been running with Edwards from the beginning of the year instead of Smith
Great to see if Bond comes in, he hasn't let us down.

I wonder what's happened to Cumming to miss another game ?

We have been playing one “accountable” forward on the oppositions most dangerous rebounder for most of the year. In recent weeks it has been Zac Taylor. This player inevitably gets the thumbs down from some posters but we have reduced the influence of the oppositions key rebounders since the Hawthorn match (Bowey, Dale, Noble, Rozee).

In the first half against Hawthorn we dominated them everywhere other than the scoreboard and Amon had little influence. They then used Impey as their outlet player and the game turned. We didn’t use an “accountable” forward on Impey and we lived to regret it.

Will Mitchell go back to the same playbook this time or will he initially revert to plan A (Impey had been spending some time forward in recent weeks.

I expect to see Zac line up on Amon but it will be interesting to compare the coaching tactics.

Firstly, imho, the most dangerous rebounding defender for Hawthorn is Carl Amon.

Who played on Impey when we played them in Tassie?
Impey was BOG last time or thereabouts & despite your protests, Murphy was on him much of the time.

Amon switches between wing & HBF.

Any reason that you’ve heard why Cumming’s still out?

Laird’s gotta be more than a ‘rest’ in such a clash
Calf strains are not ones to mess around with. Particularly coming into finals. Can easily turn a niggle into a 4-5 week stint on the sidelines.

Also, not a bad idea to give a few full season players a freshen up at this point in the season. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a few rotations over the next 4 selections

If Cumming is injured why isn't he on the injury list?

If Smith is playng I just hope they are smart enough to not have him taking the kickouts, apart from getting caught out defensively that has been the his biggest negative impact when. playing.

Hopefully it won't be much of an issue.

Still pisses me off that we have given a bloke games who won't be on the list next year, and shouldn't have been this year.
