Cumming definitely in. But if he's back to a wing and Max is replaced from outside Saturday's 23, Smith is the clear front runner. Jones has been ok, but he's fringe. Pedlar on the edge, just nowhere near guaranteeing his spot. Wouldn't surprise if one or both missed.

Nah, would require a few more injuries. Otherwise Smith is done in the AFL side. The club has realised that what he brings doesn't fit with the way they want the side to play.

Honestly some people on here have massively overrated Smith's performance this season. His performance has been alright relative to his age and recent seasons, but statistically a significant portion of his impact has been through taking kick outs.

Smith has also been caught out, repeatedly, defensively.

He was still the non-playing emergency in case Hinge didn't come up or we had a late out.

Murray is far more adapt at going up the ground to defend.
Borlase is more of a stopping defender, which we will need for one of their three talls.
Anyway, they rotate off the bench. You wouldn't have all four on the ground at once.

Keane 95%, Muz 90%, Woz 87%, unless Borlase is playing about 15% TOG, hard for all 4 to not be on the ground at once.

Sounds more like a tear rather than a strain. I've had a few myself.

With Max missing 2-4 weeks it’s just not a stop gap fix to fill his role.

We’ve preferred Cumming on the wing so I don’t think we’d want to move him back for a 2-4 week block, plus is he a tight checking defender?

Smith is an option but we aren’t needing this player to be a rebounding player.

Nank hasn’t okayed defence for awhile and again isn’t a tight checking defender.

We need someone capable to play lockdown and given it’s a decent number of weeks, it should Bond.

Personally would be happy to see Cook get another full game on a wing and push Cumming back

He was moved back when Hinge got the cork against the Bulldogs with no fuss

We would be both Butts and Michaelanny down. You need to bring in another bigger player to replace them. Borlase can play tall and small.
Who do you think the natural replacement is for Max? Please dont say Toby Murray.
He can take the player Max would have.

Bond is starting to look too good for sanfl level.

Not necessarily because he’s dominating, but he is winning 50/50 contests, his hands have become super clean and his decision making is improving rapidly.

He’s a much improved footballer even compared to last year.

Hope he gets a gig this weekend.
