I’m a huge Cook fan but I’m not sure any fringe player can or should survive a game THAT bad.

Jones has had 3 games in a row as sub now, and to be blunt he’s made zero impact in any of them.

Walker is absolutely going to be rested. It’s clear as day.

Smith would be a questionable selection with Laird returning to that spot. Maybe Brodie will be retained as sub, but surely not in the 22.

I wouldn’t fall off my chair if one of Dawson or Murray were managed in addition to the certainty of Tex not crossing the Nullarbor.

My guess:

Out:
Tex (managed), Murray (managed), Cook (omitted), Jones (omitted)

In:
Burgess, Borlase, Nankervis, Laird

Sub:
Smith

Are West Coast that bad we can play Borlase against them?

Won't be surprised if we bring Crouch in. Need to test how well he fits in the system before trying him against someone like Collingwood.
Why would we try him against Collingwood? We know how he fits in the system, sanfl.

Out

Cook omitted
Tex rested
Smith omitted

In

Borlase or Burgess (its west coast, they are in full tank mode to get a Priority Pick! They are either that bad or simply want to lose to justify the PP that we could play either of these two up forward in place of tex and it wouldnt matter!)

Laird (I personally would rather Edwards or Ryan given a run but we all know Laird is coming straight back in)

Dowling (its criminal that this lad hasnt had a run in the AFL this year especially over that Murphy pile of)

I understand the desire to rest a few players but they have to take every game seriously. Tex rested, that's it.
Disagree, we need to take advantage of our soft run home and manage anybody who is carrying any niggling injuries. We want to be hitting finals with our squad in the best position possible.

Id be happy to see 2 guys rested in both the Eagles and Kangaroos games. Tex, Dawson, Fog, TT, Peatling, Soligo, ANB all look like they could benefit from a freshen up leading into finals.

Ryan is likely done for the season, listed as 7 weeks...hamstring.

Tex does not get on that plane. If he does, we're dumb as ****.

Cook probably didn't do enough, Laird comes straight back in.

Out: Tex (managed), Cook, Smith
In: Laird, Draper, Nank.

Perfect game to get some more minutes into Draper. Nank plays forward in place of Tex, going slightly smaller. Give someone a rest as sub, maybe ANB?

Although we still need to respect the opposition, it’s ideal to rest players and firm up our preferred finals team. We get an 8 day break for Eagles and 6 day break from Perth for Collingwood. I feel the Collingwood game is going to require fresher legs. There may be resting of many players.
Out: Walker, Smith and even one of Soligo or Berry (just to keep them fresh)
In: one of nank, Draper, or Crouch, Laird.

Yeah this one is tough to pick.

Yeah this one is tough to pick.

Why do we have to respect the opposition, they’re about the worst side to ever exist. Respecting opposition that are crap is for losers. That said, if we lose to Pies, 2nd or 3rd comes down to % and Cats have 3 boosters to our 2.

I wouldn't take Cook out of this, I would be using it to get him some confidence and form.

Maybe we do something a little out of the box? We could rest Tex, play Dawson in Texs role to give him a little bit of a rest from the crash and bash of the midfield, give DC a full game in Dawsons role and then give Cook one final chance with a full game on the wing?

Because regardless of how bad they are, they are still a team of AFL players and it would be foolish to think we can just walk over them by simply rocking up. So we still have to front up with an aggressive team. So resting players needs to be balanced if that is what we choose to do.

No, we need the percentage. Not too much managing for me.
