That's his job. Step in when needed, provide a decent target in SANFL.I've got a funny feeling that Burgess will pop up for 3 goals which won't tell us much against WC then he'll be straight out for Tex next week.

Murphy and SchoenbergSo who are our travelling emergencies?
someone else on your chat seems to be pretty angry and negative for a saturday night. perhaps got stood up by his smoking hot dateThank you Temu Sanders
I offered my thoughts earlier. Clearly we don't agree
I think I'm going to move on and enjoy the rest of the evening![]()
Didn't Max debut as well? Plus McAsey did most of his first year (!).Fit to play footy (Sanfl) and fit to play AFL as a first year player are two different levels, which is why we generally do delay players from debuting early
Having said that Soligo and Rachele debuted round 1 in their year - so horses for courses

I feel like drapers issue was the pace of the game when he played afl.Didn't Max debut as well? Plus McAsey did most of his first year (!).
They chose to give Worrell and Curtin more time to develop - and that seems to have worked out.
Draper is still developing a lot of his decision making within games - this has been a great year for him to work on his body, build relationships within the team and get time to develop in the SANFL
Pedlar is getting selected on potential, which I am fine with.

Its a fair question TBH.Results this week open up a dilemma I'm only half serious about: Should we be resting players vs Collingwood?
The argument for it:
a) Don't 'need' to win now;
b) Better to rest players then give them a run in Kangaroos given the bye the week after
c) Would be extremely funny
d) Why give Collingwood a shot at redemption? Make them play the twos.

IMO, depends how much we win by tonight (if we win)
100+ and our % is near unreachable, then yeah.
80+ and you'd think maybe 1 or 2.
50 or less, no.
Percentage doesn't really matter much given the Brisbane loss? Beat Eagles and Kangaroos and we can't drop out of second, can we?
Do you risk injuries for the difference between first and second?
CorrectPercentage doesn't really matter much given the Brisbane loss? Beat Eagles and Kangaroos and we can't drop out of second, can we?
Collingwood beating us, means we'll end up on level points (presumably). We rest players and they beat us comfortably there's a danger THEY beat our %.
...And I've just checked and they're actually 20% behind us. Never mind.
There’s a bye last round, assuming we win our first final and there’s another bye. Reckon we wouldn’t want too many breaks
If it wasn't for the pre-finals bye I'd say yes. I actually think it's probably a detriment to not have the continuity of game time though. If you rest against Collingwood you're potentially playing 2 games in 6 weeks prior to a prelim. Don't teams mostly struggle immediately after a bye these days? Results this week open up a dilemma I'm only half serious about: Should we be resting players vs Collingwood?

I reckon keeping the pies out of the 4 would be a pretty good outcome. Results this week open up a dilemma I'm only half serious about: Should we be resting players vs Collingwood?

We carried Curtin for the first half of the year on potentialNo, Pedlar isn't. He's in because we're waiting out the clock on Rachele's injury and he is seen as a small forward.
We do not select anyone on potential. It's all about what they bring today.
Draper was strength. He is too light to play contested mid. We played Jones around early and he was like a tackling bag. Give the lad time to grow into himselfI feel like drapers issue was the pace of the game when he played afl.
I don’t see how anything but AFL will help that.
In his 2nd year, not his 5thWe carried Curtin for the first half of the year on potential
Yep and I think it’s the right callGetting a lot of chances is Luke
Maybe.Yep and I think it’s the right call
Logically this all makes sense, but I’ve never seen flirting with form pay off in sport. Results this week open up a dilemma I'm only half serious about: Should we be resting players vs Collingwood?
