Peds has secured his spot now until Rash hopefully gets back. With Taylors good form and Jones sucking badly then the next out seems pretty obvious.

Tex also proved his value to the team and unfortunately as much as we love and want Fog to step to be a Tex replacement the reality is he just isnt anywhere near as good or impactful.

INS

Tex
Dowling

OUT

Jones
Burgess
We as supporters are easily pleased.
Sure Pedlar did kick 3 goals but Taylor was the one who demonstrated the level of effort required.
Pedlar's chasing is half hearted, he really doesn't put in a real sustained effort at all.
If an opponent is near by he'll do what is required but his second efforts are poor. He's has talent but too often picks and chooses when to lift his intensity.
Watch how many times is he jogging around or on the periphery of a contest.
If Pedlar wants to cement a spot he needs to chase harder and for longer bursts with an increase in physicality.

I'm conflicted on the approach for the last 2 rounds. In some ways I'd rather us manage sore players this week and play a full strength squad against North, even it means it becomes a must win game for top 2. The main reason is any rested player next week will not have had a kick in anger for the best part of 3 weeks going into a heated QF, I don't love that, match sims aren't the same.

OK so you dont agree that he has secured his spot now for a few more weeks? Who would you replace him with as a forward pocket?

Jon Ralph going with the "Laird facing MRO scrutiny for hit on Duggan"

Dont see him getting a week for it, but if he did, Smith would jump back in you'd think
It was a fraction untidy from Laird and caught Duggan high (clash of heads?). Seemed a genuine attempt to smother though, just clumsy

Wonder if this gets brought up if we weren't facing Collingwood with their season on the line next week

One in-team change I'd like to see us explore in these last couple of games is some midfield time for Taylor.

I'm just a fraction worried about the clean ball handling under pressure from Peatling and Berry. I'm a big fan of both but the Hawthorn game - finals intensity match vs a quality midfield - was a touch concerning.

Taylor doesn't have their explosiveness but he's calm and assured in traffic. Would like him around the ball more.

I think Schoenberg comes in if Peatling doesn't come up.
Been consistent in SANFL this year, but given he looks an almost certainty to be delisted, you'd really hope not. Only had over 25 touches twice this SANFL season, compared to Dowling's four. And certainly hasn't had a monster game like Dowling's that demands selection.

Dowling should be in for Jones regardless, but if they're pulling up another then Draper would be the smarter choice IMO

Taylor is the second best kick in our team (minimum 10 games)

My boy Nank just sits in the sanfl scratching his head. Lad is AFL quality. If only he was afforded the opportunity given to others

Surely others clubs will come sniffing around our fringe players who can’t break into the team? Guys like Nank, Dowling, Bond even Taylor who is getting a game currently. I wouldn’t blame them for leaving either if they’re being offered starting 22 roles.

I agree Taylor was very composed and liked his defensive intensity.

It felt like Berrys fumbles were a thing of the past but they have popped back up in the past couple of weeks.

On Peatling I hope that the hawks game was a one off stinker, previously his handling and composure has been good.

West Coast supporter sitting next to me at work reckons Taylor was the difference between the two sides yesterday.

In: Tex. Out: Burgess. Keep going... Further... Further... Much further, you're nowhere near far enough out yet... Just keep walking until I tell you to stop.

In: Dowling. Out: Jones

I'm undecided on whether to give Murray another go or bring Butts back in. How did he go in the SANFL?

Seen enough of Burgess now to satisfy a delist at seasons end

It's disappointing because he didn't look too bad at Gold Coast when he got a run

It must have been because he was playing in a rubbish Gold Coast team so he looked okay compared to poor quality team mates

Draper's composure and kicking needs work, trying to do too much and running himself into trouble thinking his speed can get him by when it has led to his rushed disposal...take the 1st option to dish off if not in the clear.
Does he need some time on a flank until his head catches up with his legs?

If Laird gets a game, then the bloke that hit Filthy would get 3.
Plus the umpires should cop a few suspensions for missing those frees.
