Burgess has never performed well for us in a pressure game like this and can't be trusted to just "play his role" in a final

Contrast that to someone else out of the current side like Butts who has performed a role in big games

I agree that he's not a long term solution and the clock is ticking.

However, it is also hard to drop into a team that was well below par and perform above the level of the rest of the team. All I am saying is that it is easy to be hypercritical in a 2025 sample size of 1 in a game multiple players had a touch of the fumbles.

Not sure what they wanted laird to do. He only has no choice but to bump in the end because Cripps changed direction.

Cripps gets the ball and runs on a 45 degree angle, then in an effort to power up for a snap shot on goal he takes one to two steps at a 90 degree angle from goal and those few steps turned right into Lairds path who was sprinting to run him down from behind. There was nothing reckless in the moment. The bump was to protect himself from Cripps complete lack of awareness. Those bumps happen at nearly every contest. To penalise this one for being high is penalising a football collision for daring to exist.

He has a very high threat rating. So his kicks, regardless of length, have a well above average chance of scoring

No issues with 25m kicks to advantage inside 50. That's what you want
