I remember somebody suggesting Crows fans barrack for Port in the finals because they're South Australian. The response was swift and brutal.
The only time I'd barrack for PA would be ... uuhhhh ... maybe if .... :expressionless:

Nope. I got nothing.
Tbh, I'd rather pull my own head off and shit down my own neck, than barrack for PA, ever.

VFL House are rattled.
We are going to need to be very careful next week as Christian will be looking for anything to suspend our players from playing a final.

So you’re rationalising an obvious free kick missed against us? That’s why it’s hard to take the constant complaining seriously, when it’s our way you’ll argue that it didn’t matter, or worse, wasn’t a free kick at all. That’s a free kick all day every day.
I said it wasn’t of consequence.

There were plenty of free kicks called and not called that had no effect.

Which is what makes the ones that arent called that do matter so frustrating.

They miss em, let them go then WHACK out of nowhere Free kick.

OR

They pay a soft one, pay one that was 50-50, pay one that was arguable then BANG let three real ones go.

If you watched a game with me you’d know I call out the bad frees given and the bad ones missed BOTH WAYS.

It’s a shocking game to umpire - the rules are just terrible. Hopefully they get some more common sense next year under Swanny.

As far as the details around the Thilthorpe non-free … what’s the rule? He wasn’t time wasting (running down the clock) because the ball was about to be thrown in, clock had stopped. It wasn’t deliberate, so accidentally time wasting when the clock had stopped and the ball was about to be thrown in to a contest? Not sure about that.

Collingwood crying about the umpiring.

Don’t worry, maybe you can get an apology from the AFL and we can all forget about it.
I still don't get how this is possible.

Just received absolute love from them for all of Q1. Daicos flopping and a free kick right there, just protecting their golden boy.

Constantly jumping into our guys in marking contests and then not getting their own hands anywhere near the ball - happened 10 bloody times and nothing was called. Tackled without the ball constantly.

Oh and that one with Murphy falling over, getting told he played on, handballing it out to our own player, and then getting done for holding the ball... what the hell was that? Keane on the wing in that quarter too. FFS. Lived in collingwoods forward line because of the umpring.

The above justifies the role Murphy played. So credit to Murphy and the coaching staff for identifying a problem and putting in a solution to fix it. Will Murphy be wearing a premiership medallion if we somehow get there? Probably not. But he tries his guts out and in a side that is winning, he has come in and played a role for the team, and will be a small piece in what is hopefully a premiership puzzle by the end of the season.
Decent, thoughtful post.
I was unhappy that Murphy was selected and failed to see on TV that he had a job on Jaicos and thought he had a poor game.
I like your positive and empathetic take on what happened; a lot.
Yes, credit to the Coaches "for identifying a problem and putting in a solution to fix it" :thumbsupv1: . I'd like to see more of it.

Is it likely Murphy will win a Premiership medal with us? No, sadly, but you're right again, he does try his guts out.
Even his Kamikaze leaps for MotY, while misguided and really annoying, show frustrated effort.

And time off is automatic when the boundary umpire signals out of bounds. Hard to waste time when it doesn’t exist 👀
... and no! Time can still be wasted when time off has been blown, as the re-starting of play is delayed, making the game finish later than it should have.

For al the tension in the game last night , there were only 2 lead changes:

05:14 in the first quarter when Lachie Schultz scored his second point, giving his team a 2-1 lead.
28:16 in the second term when Izak Rankine snapped the goal that put the Crows up 39-34.
Collingwood never held the lead (and scores were never level) again

So how much time was wasted a whole ten seconds. Everyone got home ten seconds later then I guess

That staging fine against Rankine is a disgrace.

Its Collingwood. Do you expect anything else from the AFL as they try to appease AFLs greatest bunch of whinging inbred sulks. They lost, the AFL has to appease them to create reasons as to why its not there fault. Just like the commentary tried to paint all these frees Collingwood missed out on while conveniently leaving off all the throws, drop balls and clear htb ignored in Collingwoods favour.
