Time wasting doesn't need to be minutes or hours. Games are now running 10 minutes longer than they did only a few years ago. It all adds up.
If anyone should be pinged for timewasting it's the umpires standing around while 95% of people are ready for the stoppage.

It was seconds !!!!! …. How the heck does that relate in any way to a game running ten minutes longer than a few years ago … I mean if that happened 600 times a game then yeah suppose your right. Think you best go find yourself some straws.

Seriously walking slowly to get a ball after a point is time wasting and takes ten seconds. It was a nothing of time wasting. Such a fn fuss about f all.

So how would we go about an appeal for Rankine? Surely it's worth doing. If there's any contact at all they can't call it faking. They don't know how hard it hit him and where and that it didn't cause his head to go back.

Faking has been ruled in the past for people faking contact and pretending they've been hit when there's no contact. There was contact with Rankine. It should be a pretty easy charge to beat.

Leigh Montagna stat:

Reckons we're 17th in the competition across the season for transitioning the ball from D50 to F50
I thought we were good at one stage of doing that.
The champion data guys has always talked us up as having the best or second best profile.

You wouldn’t have to spend long looking through footage of Port Power games to find a heap of examples of Rozee, Butters and DBJ especially flopping and carrying on in an attempt to win free kicks that were never sighted for Staging.

Collingwood had 71 inside 50s last night. Josh Daicos had ONE of the 71 inside 50s, his lowest for the year. Last week Hawthorn kept Jaicos pretty quiet but he still had 14 uncontested possessions and 5 inside 50s.

Prior to last night Josh Daicos averaged 19 uncontested possessions a game, last night he had 8. Do you think Collingwood decided last night, just for shit and giggles, let’s starve Joshie of the ball.

Last week Jaicos had 20 disposals 14 uncontested, the Pies had 222 uncontested. Hawks had 50 inside 50.
This week Jaicos had 19 disposals 8 uncontested, the Pies had 189 uncontested. We had 37 inside 50.

So what can we glean from the above, due to the weather and our pressure the Pies played a less uncontested game??

The eye test supported this, there were not too many cheap possessions to be had PLUS our very low inside 50 count provided less opportunities for the Pies to rebound through Jaicos.

We have only used a heavy tag on an opposition defender on three occasions this year. The most successful was Max against Richmond. There is no need for a full on tag against North next week so I would not be surprised to see Murphy out of the 22.

When I returned from the game and started reading this thread I couldn’t believe the number of posters gleefully pouring shit on Murphy. Not celebrating a great victory but more importantly declaring “I was right, Murphy is shit”. It’s almost like it was the most enjoyable thing to come out of the game.

OK, now lets look at Murphys stats as our "heavy tag" option.

So without the ball Murphy had:
1 Tackle - dunno if that one tackle was on Jaicos, but if you are putting a hard tag on somoene it would have to be a world record for the lowest tackle count ever - ONE for the entire game.

9 Pressure acts - once again this would have to a record low if your main task for the game is to tag/apply defensive pressure and you can only rack up NINE pressure acts.

For comparison our other two smaller forwards that were NOT doing a hard tag on anyone had:
Keays: 7 tackles, 26 pressure acts plus 15 disposals
ANB: 2 tackles, 18 pressure acts plus 20 disposals

Even our tall forwards managed more pressure acts and they also weren't performing a hard tag - Tex managed 11 pressure acts, TT had 15 pressure acts and twice as many tackles as Murphy.

Did Murphy play a great game - No

Did Murphy do his job - Absolutely.

One thing we can agree on, Murphy didn't have a great game.

So you think Murphy did a great job, are you able to explain Murphys dismal defensive stats.

AFL set to investigate alleged offensive slur made by an Adelaide player towards Collingwood opponent

The AFL is likely to become involved in an alleged vilification probe as a result of an on-field comment made by an Adelaide player on Saturday night.

So Smith gets a fine for his hit on Daicos and Rankine gets a fine for staging yet Daicos gets nothing for his hit on Smith or staging.
You can only make this shit up.
Carbon copy of Windhager And Daicos earlier this year.

Daicos hits Windhager. Windhager does the same back. Daicos collapses down like he’s been shot. Wins free kick. Windhager fined.

Absolute joke.

Sorry, so watching from my couch I don’t get that camera angle? Do I need to be somewhere else in my lounge or maybe head to another TV in the house?
They had not even the other angle. Why are you so combative and negative about the crows even when they win and are top?

Uh oh.

They legit cheat against us the last 3 times we played them. AFL comes out and gives a bullshit apology that means nothing every time.

We finally beat them and suddenly we have a fine for touching a daicos, a fine for being hit in the head and throwing the head back, and now a probe for a homophobic comment.

Throwing the book at us for daring to win and not be cheated again.

**** em

Because he subsequently realised it was the wrong umpire?

If he kicked it away, I'd agree with you, but he kicked it in the direction of an official, and it wasted no time - gametime or real time. The only thing that made it an issue was the histrionics by dumb and dumber in the commentary box

Didn’t realise it wasn’t the bloke 2 metres away blowing the whistle with his arm in the air signalling OOB. Blind is he?

For al the tension in the game last night , there were only 2 lead changes:

05:14 in the first quarter when Lachie Schultz scored his second point, giving his team a 2-1 lead.
28:16 in the second term when Izak Rankine snapped the goal that put the Crows up 39-34.
Collingwood never held the lead (and scores were never level) again
And Adelaide led for longer than an entire half but never led by more than 9 points.

Just when you think the club has turned it around it all comes crashing down because some did something horrifically dumb.
And it's rankine apparently so someone we actually can't replace

If the allegations against Rankine are true, then this would be the 6th incident involving homophobic abuse in the VFL/AFL in the past 2 seasons.

If the allegations are true, frankly, Rankine deserves 10 matches because every AFL player should know better (though he’ll most likely cop 5-6).

I hope like hell the allegations are false.
