Which part?

Defenders chase without choice, forwards can lead if they want, or not.

Your initial posts sounds like you think if Alex Pearce pops his ankle it would be a good thing.

Forwards dictate their workload.

If you consider Fremantle a finals contender and Alex Pearce a pivotal cog in that then it could be worth running him into the ground and popping an ankle, sacrificing Kennedy's game if needed.

Not my intention, I was thinking from a Simpson perspective - that if he could give up Kennedy's game to take Pearce out of our calculations and end our contest for a spot in the eight then they might see value.

Yes he has become an important cog in the team and the ruck and forward structure while last year still experimental. Hope Strnadica will come on and get a go soon as he would be a handy back up to Tabs.

West Coast defence sets up really high, a slow dude can sit in the square by himself for the fast flat one, but bombing high and long will get picked off.

Definitely, I think our forward performance against WCE in particular will depend more on our mids creating smart inside 50s, regardless of who is in our forward line. I'd probably look at running the ball in from half-forward more than kicking it into our 50 a lot of the time.

Reckon we'll play small up forward with McCarthy as our only tall. Johnson to start back and play that 2nd ruck role. He'll probably get thrown forward if we need the help but if we do the game is probably over anyway. Happy all the youngsters stay in.

Its all about our run and entry into 50. Hope Johnson doesn't slow the defence down from last game.

The centre bounces will be interesting, I expect they will press up from half back to block any kick from 70 out, even an extra man there to clutter that 70-50 out range either forcing the kick to land 30 out into their full back line waiting or turning it over.

Maybe if we run it to near the edge of the square then go very wide we might be able to get in range. But I don't expect to.

That sort of defensive setup will smother most deep inside fifty entries, but if we can bring the ball to ground we could have snaps at goal.
