Doesn’t look like we’d win a game this season! If the club doesnt do anything, the interest will plummet amongst the supporters and will be disastrous. Is there a genuine reason for this huge landslide from finals to wooden spoon?

Pretty sure I read they believed they were a solid finals team with a chance of a GF…can’t find it now but when I read it I was looking forward to the season. They have been utterly putrid from Q1 Rd1. A total rabble.
To me the first issue is the list is terrible, slow unskilled plonkers all over the ground. Other teams have a couple of really athletic taller girls, we have chuncky legged short people who can’t hit a target by hand or foot. This falls on Kate Sheehan who should be given her marching orders as soon as the season is done. Anyone hers calls themselves a football professional and puts a list this crap has no business being involved in the game at the elite level.
Second is the coaching. They seem to have no idea how to play football. Can’t believe Ferg was given a years extension.
Either the club gets serious and runs a professional program or they shut it down. Right now it’s costing the club a fortune and they’re getting zero return for it.

From the little I’ve watched of the team this year, I’ve noticed we have a couple of “A”, a few “B” and then a lot of players who aren’t at the level. I listen to Ferg and what he says makes sense, I don’t think he’s got the cattle to be competitive.

Katie Brennan is our only legitimate tall and she seems well past it. We don’t have any elite small forwards. There’s no line breaking speed to open up the game.

The state of the list falls on the shoulders of Kate Sheehan and Ferg. We’ve signed Ferg for another year, maybe Shane Dunne needs to have a chat with Sheehan about stepping aside. The program needs a reboot.

Fairly good summary , prob 3 players have played at the level consistently this year
Mon , who’s actually well down on ly form
Ellie mc , who’ll win bf this year
And surprisingly graham
There’s a solid case that every other player out there is way out of their depth , either past it or was never at the level

Lord knows why ferg was re signed , other teams that have got a new coach have risen in blues and WB and pies

Yeah the belly has been exposed with the loss of an All Australian contested beast in Sheerin and battling hard to a victory just doesn't cut it anymore in this league. Teams know that we will give them enough looks with the amount of ball that we turn over.

It's probably a good thing that Sheerin leaving has exposed this as She's 33yo and we couldn't even win final with her.

I'ts made the decision easier now to make what should happen, happen and that is to bring quality AFLW people into the club to give a fresh re start to our women's program. Should start with letting Kate Sheahan go asap and compile an off field team that can focus on recruiting the talent needed to get to a grand final and premiership. Also means our list should be cut deep and if you're either too old or a list clogger you're not going through a rebuild. if they don't then interest will be plummet, at least with a rebuild you have hope.

We lost Sheerin to North Melbourne ~ personality clash I think.
we got smashed in the final and I don't think we've won a final. we got belted by good teams last season.

Conti is a gun. Ellie is a gun. Brennan was good.

Scott and Greiser gone backwards at the club.

Richmond got rid of its VFLW team and cut the alignment with Port.

I have no idea where the Irish girl has been training/playing. ....finally draft one and don't play her

It's actually staggering how people keep ignoring the one mostly responsible for our list in 2025. Trent Mosbey has been our list manager for almost 5 years. He is the "Blair Hartley" of our AFLW program. Kate Sheehan is the Benny Gale or Shane Dunne of our AFLW program. Now not for one minute am I suggesting that Sheehan should avoid scrutiny. Not at all. She is the head of our women's program and the buck stops there. However, our list is Trent's responsibility and it has been for a long time now. If the men's program went to poo it would be like blaming Shane Dunne for our draft and trading selections and totally ignoring Blair's involvement.

As I said, Sheehan needs to be held accountable but a little bit of accuracy is needed when firing bullets regarding our current list issues.

Yes on Graham and also for me Lynch. I think McKinnon will be good once she gets over her ACLs, Poppy not terrible for a ruck. Saw Grieves up close and she's a natural mid who is adjusting to the pace step up from U18's but clean and a smart young player. Don't hate Bacon and Ford has shown good growth, U25 we have leaders already in Mon/Ellie. Our past leaders you barely hear any leadership when live at a game, noticeable the leaders at the Lions very vocal yesterday and lifted their team. Ours didn't.

Dallaway, Egan, McLelland, Wicksteed and Scott all 25yo or under would be transition players and need that pressure from good young talent underneath for spots, that isn't there at the moment, so its either sink or swim, up to them.

Everyone else either not up to it or hasn't been given the chance to show what they offer the team.

Trent Moseby, ex Kangas recruiter.
Well if he has control over list build, trades and drafting, he can be shown the door as well.
Seriously why would you hire an ex Kangas recruiter. They can barely get their top 10 picks correct

Having a look at what Trents done in his time over the last 4 seasons, keeping in mind that later drafts are yet to bear fruit it's not great, however has been through expansion, but I think other non latest expansion clubs have done better and have been in the same boat.

looking at what current players we have on our list that would walk into the line they play on at another AFLW club it's a small list. Obviously Sheerin could have walked into any club and was Trents crowning glory.

Only a small group of players in his time that have left the club that are currently playing elsewhere. ie Sheerin, Edmonds, Brancatisano, Cordner and Taylor. One superstar and a couple of handy players. Also we haven't utilised to the same extent as others the rookie opportunities especially form Ireland.

following list of (8) players from the following ins (below) that I think could walk into another club: Libby Graham, Grace Egan, Ally Dallaway, Montana McKinnon and Paige Scott. Lots of promise and potential in Sierra Grieves, Issy bacon and Mackenzie Ford that we have seen. About a quarter of a full list.

I thought he came over from the West and North has done very well drafting in the women's.

I don't think Trent had anything to do with North's women's team. He was a Freo scout and joined North's men's program in 2018 before coming to us.
