I like the mosquito fleet idea. If it works, it'll definitely give us flexibility going forward.

But expect we'll default to Curtin as a pure third tall.
We can always do both.

Great opportunity to try different setups.

If we make Finals, imagine employing a different potent weapon in our forward set up in a big Prelim Final to catch the opposition off guard.

Makes sense...he's a bigger unit than Fog 'height-wise' at least. Will be interesting to see if we actually drop Draper - I'd prefer they make him sub TBH. Toss up between him and Taylor for that role IMHO. Berry to get a full game this time.
I'd like him as a sub, under the proviso that we play him as a stoppage mid when he comes on.

The right call to not play him. Underdone players getting games rarely works out well, and it's much more beneficial to not fly him over given there's an 8-day break until our next game.

We certainly aren’t winning 5 from 6. I reckon we go 3-3 at best. Wins against Carlton, West Coast the only ones I’d mark down as probable. Wouldn’t be surprised if we go 2-4 even.
I agree.
If we go 2-4 over the next 6 weeks, that'll put us at 6-6, smack in the middle of the Mediocre Pack.
After that, Brisbane and Hawthorn.

IF we go into the Bye at 6-8 with this Squad + the additions of Davis and Balme, it'll be SACK-NICKS time.
Gotta be, and that's quite the conundrum for me.
Do I hope for 6-8 :sadv1: and Nicks sacked :thumbsupv1:, or 8-6 :thumbsupv1: and Nicks retained :sadv1: :grimacing:...?

Don't mind it, no risk policy on underdone players. Must mean Rachele is good to go if they pick him.
I think it'd be prudent to rest both Fog and Rachele (even if Rachele claims to be pain-free).
They could even test Rachele in the SANFL if Burgo saw value in that.

That would be a good challenge for our depth + any improvement in Nicks' plans/strategy (<== see, I can be hopeful/optimistic davos44 :sneaky:).

Winning away without Fog/Rach. would be a morale- and confidence-booster, then we get them back to hammer Carlton then the ferals at home.

See, that looks like a real tough draw to me. We certainly aren’t winning 5 from 6. I reckon we go 3-3 at best. Wins against Carlton, West Coast the only ones I’d mark down as probable. Wouldn’t be surprised if we go 2-4 even.

Keeping in mind Sydney will have Mills, Goulden, McDonald and maybe even Papley by then too.

I have us going 4-2 from the next 6.

So bottom line you stop those 2, you stop Fremantle!
For the sake of our Crows, can someone please send this post with the Serong/Brayshaw data to Nicks, or Davis?
Prettyplease?
TBH, I think if you even stop 1 you likely stop Fremantle. I sincerely hope we plan to clamp down hard on 1 of them for 4 quarters. If we can successfully do that then we should win the midfield battle convincingly, and dry up their I50's substantially.
Sounds like a plan
BUT
Nicks.

Also wouldn't mind seeing us throw in a few structural curveballs up forward. Like a couple mins a quarter with Rankine, Rachele, Nibbler, Draper and Keays all buzzing at the feet of just Tex or just TT. At this point no opposition coach would expect a 5 small mosquito fleet. Try and throw their back 6 into chaos from time to time
Another good idea.
When Nicks is finally sacked, please apply for the job?

just imagine if Curtin kicks 5 goals against Freo

The jungle drums will be going into overdrive in Perth
Especially with Chad Warner signing on for a few more seasons at Sydney...Retaining Dan might be a real problem for us to retain if the western clubs start to make big plays for him. I wish we had already had him locked away on a big long term contract:(
