Especially with Chad Warner signing on for a few more seasons at Sydney...Retaining Dan might be a real problem for us to retain if the western clubs start to make big plays for him. I wish we had already had him locked away on a big long term contract:(
What was the Eagles offering us?

What would they offer us in October if Curtin was on the table?

Fortunately WCE are at a really low ebb. Can't see anyone (with choices) willingly going there at present. They'll have cap space though. Maybe Oliver and JUH end up there.

A Curtin extension to free agency so he can see how they're tracking then I reckon.

Freo...? Hopefully Pickett soaks up their cap space.

I think jo172 predicted a few weeks ago that Curtin will have a "double his offer" game soon. Maybe this Friday?

For the sake of our Crows, can someone please send this post with the Serong/Brayshaw data to Nicks, or Davis?
Prettyplease?

Sounds like a plan
BUT
Nicks.
TBH people will want to clamp down on Serong, and I get it, he's the star player. But I think the easier and more impactful target in terms of the end result would be Brayshaw. He seems to do more scoring damage with his touches (More Goals, I50s and GAs). So shutting down Brayshaw and letting Serong try to win it on his own could be the more impactful solution.

I've said it before. Sometimes the best way to stop Batman's influence on a situation is to take away his Robin. Calling Brayshaw 'Robin' is probably a bit of a kick in the d**k to him, but I doubt many people would pick him over Serong.

I would not be trading him if it is at all possible. BUT, I would be after their 1st rounder which we would hope is pick 1 or 2 - now they would baulk and say he has not proved himself, yet for where he projects, we would have to be holding for that. Then maybe we could draft Dyson Sharp who in his own way with Sid Draper would anchor our midfield for the next decade.

BUT I want Dan Curtin here for his career if possible - thats my number 1 preference

My apologies to Rob.

We lost the hit outs 45 to 49 but won the clearances 46 to 35. I do recall thinking at the time that we did better than expected against a high quality midfield.

So we have won clearances 5 times in 6 matches. Our only clearances loss was 37-40 against Geelong. My point was that if we continue to win clearances it is very difficult to see Rob playing in the SANFL. I will just have to close my eyes when he takes possession of the ball.

I think there's a little more to clearances than just the ruckman and hitouts won. Scores won and conceded matter more than hitouts.

As much as I would love it to happen, I just can't see WCE offering their first pick this year for him.

What is most probably the most likely thing is that WCE also has Hawthorn's first rounder sp that will most be the major part of the deal.

I could see them packaging that up that with their 2nd round pick and we'd either give them a future 2nd or one of our 2025 3rd rounders in return.

Let's say that the Hawks finish 4th

We could be potentially looking at 15, 19 and giving them a future 2nd.

Given that we took Curtin at Pick 9 and he's still very raw, it's most probably a realistic return.

I hadn't heard Warner re-signed with Sydney, someone was saying last week, the way he is playing, he has checked out already

Common sense changes.

Good to see Draper retained. As much as he looked tired against GWS, I'm more than happy to back him in to work through it. And an away trip to Perth is great experience for a young player.

Peatling and Rachele are two big ins, and Berry out doesn't cost us much at all. Obviously we will miss Fogarty, but that can't be helped.
