I'd rather invest in Pedlar if they are the choices, but there's also Dowling who's in better form than both.
Contrary to some who see Dowling as a big bodied inside leaning mid I see his best role wing/half forward where he can use his endurance ..even a Tom Lynch like connector.

Walker unavailable? Why being tested? He's playing well and doesn't seem to need a rest. With Fog possibly out Walker plays and Fog is replaced by Curtin.

We gotta rest him. Should rest him this week. Then he can play the next 6 games (with a possible early sub vs the hapless eagles).

Then he can sit round 14 against the Hawks in Tassie so he gets a full 3 weeks off due to the bye.

Then one final rest in Rd 22 (and possibly rd 24 depending).

We are 4-2 - having Tex healthy for the whole season is far more important than trying to jag a win against the Dockers.

Our forwards:

TT, ANB, Keys, Curtin, Taylor

Forwards unavailable:

Rachele, FOG, Walker, T Murray.

Options remaining:

Murphy, Cook, Burgess, Welsh, Pedlar.

Murphy shouldn't play AFL ever again. Burgess isnt - nor will he be AFL Level. Welsh aint nearly ready.

For me - that leaves it between Pedlar and Cook. I think Cook can turn a game. Both Pedlar and Cook are likely to have 10 disposals and 1 goal, but I think at Subiaco I would prefer Cook.
They’re not resting Tex with Fog out

I don’t think Rach will be ready. We have a squad, let’s use them as it’s a long season. Peatling, Dowling, and Pedlar in, Fog, Berry, Laird or Milera out. Can’t have both as they are defensive liabilities. I’d also consider bringing in Bond as a stopper.

I would be very surprised if Rachele is medically cleared to play given the game is away in Perth with about 3.5hr travel time after recovering from broken ribs, especially when you consider we have two back to back games at AO after this.
If he can take the hits physically at training this week there will be no reason not to play him, flying will have nothing to do with it

Let's be real, we're about 1 player away from having our best 22 out there. We've been super lucky so far and if we're struggling to make finals this year then something ain't right.

Out Berry, in Peatling. If Rachele is ready, give draper a rest.

I think Draper out is a good idea. We've got a decent number of options who can play his role and I'd be happy for him to play a SANFL game or two. I assume Rachele is not playing too, so that means:

Out: Fogarty (injured), Draper (managed)

Ins will be Peatling and someone to play up forward. Pedlar? Would be huge if Rachele gets up.

I don't think there's any need for Draper to play SANFL. If he's gassed give him a week or 2 off.

No ice on Fogarty's shoulder after the game and he didn't look to have much issue joining in the circle for the song, shoulders up and everything

Reckon he's a chance to play next week

He's tough as nails. They put him back out after it first happened and he lasted a quarter, which makes me think its not a break.

Think he needs a bit of confidence getting his hands on the ball. Not sure Nicks is willing to give him that at AFL level yet in the role he's playing

Broken ribs take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to heal and flying can be very painful as the ribs are not easily supported.

Not to mention he hasnt had any contact training. I would be shocked if he is cleared medically to fly.
