Excellent changes. Playing someone up forward who can actually take a grab & Hughes can release Blakely into the middle so Mundy can play permanent forward.

Pretty sure its just straight swaps Johnno for Hughes (Richmond small forwardline) and then Walters for Cox to bring our height back upto standard in the forward line

As you can see from the responses, I think we agree that the changes are the best that we could make in the circumstances.

If we can draft in B Hill, M Walters, M Taberner, Darcy and perhaps Griffen in the next 6 odd weeks we will have a reasonable team that really shows the future.

Don't even mind if some of the first year players are rested when the others come back - they will need it.

Griffen = Logue

Interesting isn't it? I think most would rate BHill, Walters, Tabs, Bennell as best 22. With Logue probs being close and Darcy needing game time because he is definitely the future. So that means we still have 6 to come in for our best long-term team. It is going to be interesting to see how they all fit.

Plays in two positions we actually have depth in. Tricky he should try and be taller.

13 players under 50 games by my count. If we can be competitive then that's a huge win.

20 goals in 24 games...Kersten needs to kick 2 goals per game at least. Or be able to play in the middle for some periods during the game. He's not tall and big enough to crash packs so he is going to struggle to get games. If we had a more traditional set up, he could play the third tall.

I think he's got the athletic ability and the size. I've just never really seen the sort of footy we need in more than just a short burst to warrant much optimism.

I think we need more grunt at the coalface and Blakely gives you that in spades.
Crazy not to play him there IMO.

Why not rotate them through. Mix and match? Play forward as well. Run rings round defenders. Spin em out.

I've never thought of Hill as having grunt. Class, speed, quick hands, decent in traffic but to go up against Martin, Cotchin etc I reckon Blakely is more appropriate.

Hill is much better value running with the ball and kicking it inside 50. Thats what he's really good at. Blakely is a genius at stoppages and a bit of a bull. Precisely what we need inside against Richmond.
