Crowden doesn't need your rests

Impressive!

He needs a solid 30 games under his belt and then he'll start to become a weapon. He's a bit of a liability around the ball, but his defensive efforts are sublime. Very surprised by his genuine burst of speed. I'm not a massive fan right now because of his brainless moments, but potentially has the greatest upside to him from this year's draft.

Out: Walters
In: Hughes

Swing a backman forward. I’m thinking Hamling. Worked a treat against North and he was half injured.

Hey legends ! What’re your thoughts on bringing Harley Bennell in for Walters and leave him deep down forward ? From all training reports he looks as fit and skilful as ever, I’d rather play him at the MCG rather then on the hard surface of Optus for his first game back.

Would love it, but he'll surely do a managed time game at Peel for probably 2-4 weeks before even being looked at.

Not seeing many people including hill, Is he really another week away ? :(

In: Swita/North, Hughes
Out: Walters, Johnson

Ballantyne lucky Walters is injured.

Don't care (or could predict really) which genuine KPF comes in but we 100% need one. I'd probably like two in an ideal world. Johnson can't play the position and we're wasting games on him when we could be getting into a Apeness/Cox who might be the future.

If a kid is playing well in the reserves give them a shot at the expense of a youngster who needs a rest. North would be a decent in.

Nyhuis for Walters may be the only change at this stage.

I know what Ross said about Sandi in the presser but I’ll eat my hat if he plays both away games against Tigers and Swans.

I think Nyhuis > Walters sounds the goods, got really excited by the young man last year and think he was hard done by in getting dropped.

I think if Sandi flies he needs support, and I reckon throw caution into the wind and field Strnadica. The boy looks to have become a man in the space of a month and I reckon he’ll jump to the occasion.

No one is expecting us to beat the Tigers on current form, so instead of throwing in old hats like DP/Sheridan we should give in-form youngsters a crack.

Its likely Richmond's 2nd ruck is someone who is just a tallish mid. The problem with Johnson today was his body got buffeted by two genuine big bodied ruckmen in Lycett and Naitanui.

I don't think that will be an issue next week against Richmond. By all means think about someone else who can play up forward as well, as it didn't appear Johnson spent much time in the forward half except for at the opening bounce. (Richmond look like they got thrashed in the hitouts 17-44 vs. Collingwood but dominated the clearances 35-25 and 17-10 out of the centre)

I wouldn't mind having another look at Brennan Cox. He didn't do much for Peel today but he's the most mobile of the talls at the moment.

Pretty soon we have to bring in someone to lead the ruck when Sandilands is rested.

16 plus k's is huge.
I noticed Crowden free in the centre corridor a lot today and we didn't play him so once that chemistry develops he'll be a weapon.

It often takes a while for other players to feel comfortable passing to the newbies.
It's no surprise to me that when one of our youngsters gets a touch a couple others will probably be a part of the chain.
Once the trust is built they're like any other player on the team (bar maybe leaders / oldies)

Give them the pill at every opportunity I reckon.Especially when they've grafted to be clear.
Almost team rule stuff.
Lifts newby confidence when their endeavour and team intelligence is acknowledged
Crowden was underplayed several times, but him and the other youngsters are burgeoning champs and have a point to prove.
They'll keep coming and improve at the level.
Great to watch.

Watching the peel game and given injuries Nyhuis is the obvious replacement for Walters, played well up forward with poor/limited delivery.
Hughes was held aside so seems to be close but is not like for like.

So many players not available ATM and not many at peel really putting in good enough performances to deserve selection.
