I don't think I was celebrating anything.

Just stated the fact - that after 7 rounds we are currently 5th on the ladder. Its a pretty negative vibe for a team that is currently sitting 5th out of 18 teams.

There isn't any analysis. Its you just getting worked up.

I never said we would finish 5th -lots of football to be played.

Just think it's all very Debbie downer for a team that is 5th on the ladder. And of course its you and George that are the quickest to jump on any post suggesting things may not be as doom and gloom as you comment on constantly.

Yeah you’re right, you weren’t “5th best team”.

We are equal on wins with 10th place, having lost 3 from 4, our percentage boosted when we beat up on undermanned and shit Saints and Essendon, whilst being mostly injury free.

We’ve seen our midfield smashed 2 of the last 3 weeks whilst Nicks has his hands on his leg.

We’ve seen ROB play 2 stinkers out of 3, setting up Freos game winning lead in the first quarter, as not only did Darcy destroy him, he gifted a crucial late goal to Freo by tapping directly to their mids.

And don’t let late goals when the game was done full you into thinking 18 points was a reflection of the game. We were spanked.

What I actually said was - The reality is that currently, on the only metric that counts, we are the 5th best team in the AFL.

I can explain it further for you. What I was saying is that on the current AFL ladder - we are the 5th best team in the AFL. Thats not a projection of our future - just an undeniable fact.

It’s a stupid metric to be relying on after round 7, besides hanging your hat on 5th ignores we’ve won as many games as 10th, lost 3 from our last 4, beaten up on 3 shit teams which boosted our percentage. Lost a home game. Won 1 from 3 away games. Had our midfield smashed 2 out of 3 games. Had ROB smashed 2 out of 3 games. Been one of the few teams to have played with a very healthy best 23. Nicks.

Should I go on or are you going to keep relying on a silly metric?

I am yet to watch a SANFL match live.

Amongst those who have seen our twos live, who do we select, Butts or Borlase?

I like to concept of Butts and at his best he a a solid defender. He is coming back from a major injury (Chase looks like he will never recover from his injury) so is Big Butts AFL ready?

Is it his average of 1 clearance a game that gave you that idea? One of Rash’s biggest flaws is he gets lost and confused in crowded packs. Excellent in space, would consider clearing out the forward line for him at times when we need a change up.
