Sam Berry for all I care. This is a garbage role that shouldn’t even exist unless the player doing it actually has opposable thumbs, which T Murray and Maley don’t. When they win the tap we lose the clearance anyway. Pick a team full of players who can actually play football and increase the speed and running options for crying out loud.

In all seriousness, the answer to the backup ruck dilemma is to drop both of Maley and T Murray, swing N Murray forward and have him take the backup ruck role (too hard for a defender to do this) and bring Borlase in down back.

I know it’s robbing our already horrific midfield but geez I love Dawson behind the ball. Such a calming presence, able to provide drive with both his legs and by foot. We can’t continue relying on Milera to provide 100% of our rebound. The modern game is built on rebound from Half back.
