Imagine being in the selection meeting where they decided to go with all 5 of McAndrew, Tex, Thilthorpe, Maley and T Murray against the Lions. These people in positions of influence at our club are so incredibly out of their depth and incompetent. As fans and members, we deserve so much better than this.
I bet it was that we knew Walker and Thilthorpe would be unable to cope with a long flight and two intense games in 5 days.

We knew one or both should rest. But couldn't bring ourselves to do it due to continuity being the only string to our football philosophy bow.

So we came up with the ingenious plan to add an extra tall today and next week so that we can lower Tex and Thilthorpe's (and McAndrew's) TOG, so it would be like a rest.

We invented the in-game rest and the results are there to see.

Well......

Keays has to go. Got gifted a goal probably because Filthy was too sore to bother. **** it, play Sid and tell Ben to pull his head out of his arse.

Maley just gets in the way. Toby had a mare, particularly by foot but he at least looks 25% of a footballer. Finbar does not. Soligo comes back.

Taylor has had a few poor games in a row now, ANB comes in if fit. If hes not then Dowling even though we have seemingly ruled the line through.

Could quite easily drop 2 or 3 more. Give Edwards a mulligan, when your senior types dont do the heavy lifting it's hard to expect a 2nd gamer to follow.

Hard to take anything out of the last quarter but Nick Murray might be worth a sneaky look again forward of the ball. Filthy might need that spell.

Borlase can come in and play back if required.

Time for a clean
Out: Keays pure poo
Laird back to Mitchell Park
TMurray nope no idea yet
Cumming - coasted for far too long
Bond - thin ice turnovers too often
NMurray very lucky he showed something up forward but since the knee he’s been poor

In: Soligo, ANB
Out: ?

We’ve seen Soligo run in sand all year at AFL level, does a game smoking semi-amateurs change what we expect of him at AFL level? How is it possible for his fitness or form issues to have been resolved on a single SANFL game?

Out:
Maley - Nick Gill Mk. II
T. Murray - won't make it, just doesn't have the smarts or skills
Keays - Should be, but won't be
Taylor - I had high hopes, but he doesn't have it. Won't be on our list next year.
Bond

In:
Borlase - N. Murray to play forward until Fog is fit
ANB
Dowling - Play him on the other wing and move Cumming to HB. The latter is on thin ice as it is, but at least play him in the position where he played his best footy and why we threw money at him. If not him, then Curtin.
Draper - Just play him. He's a #4 pick and needs to be part of the future. No point in him wallowing in the SANFL, get him as much AFL experience as possible
Soligo

Our
  • T Murrray, not AFL ready
  • Keays, he’s been horrible all year
  • Edwards, hasn’t grabbed his chance

In
  • ANB to replace Keays
  • Soligo to replace Edwards
  • Curtin or Draper to come in for T Murray

  • Maley stays in as the back up ruck
  • Cumming on selection notice

I'd be miffed if we dropped Edwards, especially given the copious amounts of chances others have had over the journey.

Yeah, he was poor today, but hardly alone there and he showed last week what he can be capable of.

If Soligo has his power and burst back then you play him as he hasn't shown this to date (he tried to do this and was caught HTB on multiple time at the AFL level). No doubt, the risk is can he back it up in consecutive weeks. I think Nicks will take the risk given he is going up against an inform midfield of Butters and JHF in a very important game.

he's contracted til end of next year as well :disrelieved:

They're not going to ever drop Keays or Laird. Laird could be rested though.

OUT: T.Murray, Edwards, Taylor
IN: Curtin, Soligo, Draper (if ready)

Out: Turry, Taylor, Maley

In: Soligo, ANB, Curtin.

Trying to be realistic. We aren't droping Keyes etc.

I have the feeling we will take it very conservative with Curtin and he'll get another game.

We should do a 2 pronged fwd line. Taking in too many talls that aren't mobile is ineffective. It penalises us on the bench with rotations and there will be a coumpound interest to be paid in terms of mids running out games if we keep up this $#itFu<kery.

Who's 2nd ruck ??

Outs:-
Bond
Murray/Maley
Taylor

Ins:-
Soligo
Neal-Bullen
Draper

B:- Michaelanney. Butts. Worrell
HB:- Milera. Murray. Dawson
C:- Cook. Rachelle. Neal-Bullen
1R:- McAndrew. Peatling. Berry
HF:- Keays. Walker. Pedlar
F:- Rankine. Thillthorpe. Soligo
Int:- Draper. Edwards. Laird. Murray/Maley. Cumming

Taylor basically matched Rachele, but I agree, continuing to play him because he’s clocked up games needs to stop.
I love Taylor but he’s a mid and he won’t make it in the afl a one. Draper has the speed so when we are winning or losing can come into the middle to get mins.

Keep Maley, drop Toby Murray.

Maley is not a super player by any means, but he competes when aske and brings the ball to ground for the smalls, which is about what you can expect of a young fourth string key forward in the side due to injury.

I've yet to see anything that would explain with the club has put so much development time into Toby Murray.
