Why wouldn't Nyhuis come in for Willo??

Surely we are past Pearce and Johnno isn't needed for a short saints forward line?

Questioning this weeks selections.

Hughes needs more time, we keep interrupting his footy, should leave him in for a 3 game stretch

Nah, better to keep dropping him and sending mixed signals like we did for Tabs and delay his development by 3-4 years.

Woo. Pretty happy Duman + Crowden stay in. Hughes should have got more than one game but was absolutely terrible so not too cut up that he gets dropped. Johnson will play one of Billings or Gresham into form and get 'managed' next week....

Play 4 tall defenders against the Saints who are missing Bruce and McCartin. Not even the slightest way does Johnson need to play. I'm sure Johnson will be 'managed' again very soon after another poor game

Back soreness for Wilson.

Giving Hughes a single game then dropping him for D Pearce is just shit.

Shit shit shit.

Go ahead and defend that, someone.

MJ ahead of Kersten confuses me a bit too, given the latter appears to have made a sound transition into an MJ-like role at Peel. Ruck work and experience, not sure that outweighs the negatives that MJ brings.

I think I need my reading glasses to see correctly. What's wrong with playing the kids? Nyhuis please :-)

What is going on?

Meh. No one else to come in to replace them. Kersten, Apeness and Nyhuis haven't been warranting selection.
Only fair.
But dangerous now. We have no speed and Stephen Hill is not a lock yet.

I beg to differ on Nyhuis, Kersten’s been played out of position for over a month as well.

I can only guess that MJ is still preferred because of his knowledge of defensive structures to help organise the backline.

On the other hand, he doesn't strike as the demonstrative, "backline general" type like say, a Hodge or, even, a Dawson (one of the Dawson's strengths, evidently, was to help the others get up to speed on the backline system).

No fan of danyal but pretty understandable.
johnson on the other hand, well yeah hes an absolute waste of time. I just dont see tbe point ,especially against an undersized but quite quick saints fwd line
Can see him making a fool of ross and co(and himself)again this game only to be turfed for another rest the following week

Genuine question: what did you guys expect? Surprised by level of melts in here. The cupboard is bare. We are playing them all except Strnadica, Giro and North imo and North is about 12th in line in his role.

I'd have preferred Kersten to replace either of the outs and see how he goes against a poor team at home in defence but that is about it.

I think Ross might be hanging on by the skin of his teeth.
There would be some irony if his last game at Freo was against the Saints
