I dunno but maybe Rioli can argue time served behind bars as part of his sentence. Will port wear the prison bar Guernsey? Is that a thing every time now?
Do we always wear our home Guernsey in showdowns now even ones we are the away team??

Here's an idea:
Do we have anyone in the SANFL with some innate mongrel but not really good enough for AFL?
Maybe Murphy?
Pick him and tell him to snipe Butters (EDIT: or JHF, or both) while making sure the ball is within, say, 30 metres.
I'd love to see a side-on hip'n'shoulder that folds Butters around our bloke, but not so much as to break ribs or any kind of permanent damage), just enough to dull his influence.
Oh, ok, stretchered off.
If the Crow involved gets 3 or 4 games, hey, que sera, sera.
You know, like the way they did Rankine.
The problem is, his disposal is far inferior to that of Cumming. He’s getting himself into all sorts of strife. It does make for interesting selection this week. I would think 95% of us have Nank missing and Hinge returning, wouldn't think there's much point trying to argue that won't happen. But it would leave a wing spot open, although Curtin can play there. But it still leaves 8 defenders for a 7 man rotation.
I know Nank has been out of form, but when you look at the raw stats and take into account the variance in TOG, he's getting his hands on the ball just as often as Cumming on the other wing. I know Cumming has hit up some sublime targets, but for all the certainty that Nank must go, is next man up really going to do much better in that role? Gut feel it's going to be a bit of a poisoned chalice throughout the year.

Think we'll drop this. Port will come out firing after being demolished and they've shown they're capable of piling on 5 or 6 goals very quickly.

I reckon if we get a good start that fire goes out pretty quickly.I don't expect us to drop it, but I am expecting one hell of a contest. Port will come out breathing fire, and they won't go away easily.
We'll need to earn this win.

The last time we played the three headed monster against Port, we overwhelmed them and won by 7+ goals. 2023 R20.
Tex had a quiet game and kicked 7+
Just lock down on oneI feel more confident our defence can hold their forwards than theirs.
Key will be to not let Butters & JHF go berserk.
Do you think Nicks will place a hard tag on Butters?I feel more confident our defence can hold their forwards than theirs.

I'm sure the plan will be to expose their midfield as being lazy, which they are when they don't have the ball.Do you think Nicks will place a hard tag on Butters?
IIRC JHF played forward I50 and monstered Max in the last Showdown.

We should wear it in every game there’s no clash and particularly a showdown. Will port wear the prison bar Guernsey? Is that a thing every time now?

Broadly agree, though I think he's also missed a lot of opportunities to do some important, positive things to offset the mistakes. If he kicks those two relatively easy goals against Freo for example the conversation about him looks pretty different.Much of what Nankervis is doing is quality. It's just that his gaffes are so eye catching and usually completely unnecessary.
Cumming, on the other hand, I think is still very underrated by our own supporters. He's been great, yet I often see posts from people calling him disappointing or even a bust. I don't get it.

Nicks should tag Butters as he is the player along with JHF most likely to give them a win.Do you think Nicks will place a hard tag on Butters?

He wont because weve beaten them enough without doing it. Doesnt mean its not the right thing to do, but its what he'll think.Nicks should tag Butters as he is the player along with JHF most likely to give them a win.
Doubt Nicks will though.
Take out Butters & we win.He wont because weve beaten them enough without doing it. Doesnt mean its not the right thing to do, but its what he'll think.
I agreeTake out Butters & we win.
Should be a no brainer.
Agree - Butters.Just lock down on one
