Caveat: our blokes should not get sucked in by their play-the-man bullshit.
They will try it on.

If the Crows start well and keep their composure they should win by 5+ goals.
5+ is well unders. If you lot are half serious about playing finals this is a minimum 10 goal drubbing.

We'll struggle to kick 9 goals for the game and our key defenders are unreliable at best with any sort of structured movement coming at them.

If you get on top at the clearance, it will be a smashing, if we manage to break even, maybe we keep it under 8 goals...

This is the key. If we can get ahead in the clearances, we should win fairly comfortably.

If we allow JHF, Butters and co to run the ball out of there at will, then anything could happen.

What do people think of the management of Sanders last year by the Dogs? High draft pick mid in a mid-table side, 14 games, 9 full games and 5 with some sort of sub role, 28% CBAs. Has played every game so far in his second year. This time last year he was in the VFL after he'd played 6 games to start the season (3 full games, 2 subbed off, one as sub). Came back in round 11 as the sub and had a run of 8 games from there.

Was that a normal intro to the game for a high end draft pick? Terrible mismanagement? Malpractice? Has it held him back this year?

Personally I'd have no issue if Draper took a similar trajectory. I think it would be bad for him to spend half the season in the SANFL from here. Don't have an issue if he's in and out a bit as long as he's getting regular AFL exposure.

I thought the issue was he had a bit of an attitude problem and was rubbing Bevo the wrong way.

You shutdown Butters, Port lose. If he leaves next year they will spend a few years in the bottom 6.

Mate ... you just trolled your own team.

We’ve seen this playbook before…McEntee and Burton in with some underperforming SANFL young guys….its a Hinkley special.
Who have you got of any value atSANFL level

Narrator: they weren’t half serious about playing finals

Nah, Keays is a goalkicker. ANB far better around the contest and as a stopper for Rozee's run I reckon.
ANB eventually got moved onto Whitfield in the GWS game towards the end. Hoping we do something like that from the start on Rozee rather than waiting for him to get 30+ touches in 3 quarters before deciding to pay him some attention.

Surely that stat isn’t much good unless it’s based on games in which there’s a home state advantage.

All stats are as good as the question being asked.

If you're asking how often the home team wins regardless of opponent, the answer is, roughly 57% of the time.

If you're asking how often the home team wins against an interstate team, the answer is, roughly 60% of the time.

Which, as it turns out, is roughly as often as the higher-ranked team on the ladder wins the Showdown.

I’m still surprised that it’s not higher than that.

I guess at the end of the day, a good team travelling interstate should still beat a crap home team more often than not. Home ground is an advantage, but only so much.

If the competition was more even, presumably the home ground advantage would be more pronounced.
