I think if we rest Tex we will bring Pedlar in as he kicked 4 on Sunday and provided a half forward target.Changed mind
In Hinge
Out Nankervis
In Draper
Out Tex (rest)
Peds likes a tackle and it might give Rachele some more midfield time as well.

Don't see why Hinge couldn't be shifted to wing.
We actually need some injuries and unavailability periods so we can get more guys coming through. Edwards, Ryan, Pedlar, Draper, Bond, McAndrew, Dowling all needing AFL minutes
I think the best thing would be for Smithers to sink a nice goal to finish them off, and the Crows fans can join in the song as per Saturday - with the well known chorus 'No way, Get F*cked, F8ck Off'...You'd expect Rankine and some of our boys will come out breathing fire given what happened last time as well and how he was treated by the Port fans being stretchered off the field. Would not surprise me at all if he gets stuck into the crowd if he slots a couple. Will be interesting.

I don't think Tex will be rested. Might be the starting sub a few times. They'll want to do everything to get him to 300 games and he needs to play nearly every game from here to make itWant: Out: Smith, In: Hinge.
Reality: Out: Nank, In: Hinge.
Tex to get a rest after collingwood I think.
I don't love having someone as sub 2 games in a row if they only get a quarter or so, got to keep getting miles in these guys legs. Also feel the sub should be a midfield runner who can come on and inject some energy through the middle of the ground and stoppage (assuming no injuries). Berry was good when he came on but he still hasn't proven he's fixed his fumbles and sloppy disposal under pressure. There will be pressure Sat night. A lot of it. I'd give him a full run in the SANFL and bring Draper back in for a taste of Showdowns as sub.
Hinge comes in for Nank - he needs a game or two in the 2s to get his bearings back, looks a bit lost right now. Think he'll get monstered playing like that in a Showdown. Talented kid, he'll be back.

Too often we get these big games after the Showdown. We play our guts out in the Showdown with big atmosphere pumping and then draining everyone's adrenaline etc, and then next week we get taken to the cleaners. Lets hope Split Enz got it wrong (but we Kiwi's rarely admit we do, cause we rarely doShowdown, not a bad warm up game for the collingwood game.

DowlingWhich out of Milera, Smith and Hinge are you playing on the wing?
Dowling

I know.He had Hinge coming in for Nank, for Dowling to play, someone else has to miss.
What rubbish. No coach would be wishing a picked player to have a quiet game. Not even Nick's.Will be itching for Taylor to have a semi-quiet game and it will be Murphy straight in.
I love Hinge further up the ground delivering into the forward line but rotations mean Cumming and Curtin play there as well. Wing and half back not dissimilar in the modern game. I hardly think Nank being out of the side disrupts things too much.Which out of Milera, Smith and Hinge are you playing on the wing?
Could be too. I’m certain I heard Nicks say something like he will play the younger of a pair vying for the same position if they are on par with each other. Did I hear that right in his post match press? In any regard Hinge will play surely. On a totally different question, with Burgess bagging so many goals is he a good Walker replacement when Walker needs resting? 3 big lads in our forward line has been tough for opposition defenders. I’m definitely not suggesting resting Walker this week! No way! But maybe against Eagles in a couple of weeks.Nah, the depth chart will do Smith in this week (and Smith wasn't good enough to overcome that). He was in for Hinge, he'll be out for Hinge.
I know.
My point is none of these 3 should be playing as a wingman.

It does make for interesting selection this week. I would think 95% of us have Nank missing and Hinge returning, wouldn't think there's much point trying to argue that won't happen. But it would leave a wing spot open, although Curtin can play there. But it still leaves 8 defenders for a 7 man rotation.
I know Nank has been out of form, but when you look at the raw stats and take into account the variance in TOG, he's getting his hands on the ball just as often as Cumming on the other wing. I know Cumming has hit up some sublime targets, but for all the certainty that Nank must go, is next man up really going to do much better in that role? Gut feel it's going to be a bit of a poisoned chalice throughout the year.

If you had to choose between this week or next to rest him, it would be this week. We're not resting Tex in the near future, maybe against the Eagles or Swans, but more likely he plays to the bye.
I wouldn't rest him this week, not with his record against Port, plus their garbage defence won't be able to handle all of Tex, Fog and Thilthorpe. If we rest him before the bye I'd rest him the West Coast game.If you had to choose between this week or next to rest him, it would be this week.
