So if Ratugolea goes to Thilthorpe and Bergman goes to Fogarty, that would leave Alir of Tex (who would be licking his lips surely when he trots out and sees Alir coming to him).......if we can't make Port pay when we go inside 50, its on us, We have the firepower to blow them away if we can match their intensity on the night
It's the midfield that could be the issue. Butters, Rozee, JHF, Wines. If we aren't clean in the centre we could be in trouble. But if we can at least break-even we should win comfortablely I'd think (hope).

Draper is immensely talented; will be a gun.
His speed, evasions, awareness and general skills means he can footy, bigtime,
BUT
he's 18/ 1.82m and 72Kgs. On an AFL field in an AFL game, he's a boy among many men aiming to trample him.
Physically, he makes Sholl look like a brick shithouse.

Footy wire lists him at 73kgs.

Nick Daicos - 183cm / 72kgs - 23 games rookie year.
Levi Ashcroft - 179cm / 75kgs - played significant minutes every game so far.
Nick Watson - 170cm / 69kgs - played 18 games

I am not saying throw him into the middle for 90% of gametime. Put him on a wing / HBF with a couple stints in the middle.

The most important thing for him is getting him on the field. He isn't a long term project player. He is the future and we need him to get to 50 games ASAP.

The Bergman match up of Fogarty would be a huge mismatch in strength.

We are the highest scoring team in the AFL. Port are bottom 4 for points against.

Our strength is their weakness. Play our natural game, keep cool heads and we should smash em.

The most important thing this year is to manage his inherent back problem so that he grows out of it without exacerbation.

Is that home state advantage or home ground advantage?

You’d think the former would be more than 57% surely.
Lol, soz - didn't mean to laugh at what I now realise was a serious post. I thought you were talking in the context of Showdowns (where home state advantage would definitely be more than 57%)!

100%, That was absolutely the turning point last year..we lost our damn minds!

I do hope Keane roughs up Pepper Pig...
but keeps his head in the game too.

Yup, this group does not handle their emotions well. It killed them in 2023, and it killed them against Port last year.

To be fair we were the youngest and least experienced team of the round when Rankine was sniped. You’d hope recruiting 3 mature players + Tex back in the side means we can handle emotion more maturely.
