Can only play who your drawn. I still think the flag is between Freo, Sydney and Hawthorn.
Agree with you there, they're just doing shitty teams in like the Hawks do and building a massive percentage. Port have been rampant of late as well and teams are just turning up with a defeated mentality before the game. Swans are different though because every team believes they're in with a chance by the way that the Swans play.

When the Swans get their 2-way running game well and truly going, we crush teams, well and truly crush them, like Geelong last year.

GWS has now reached the point where comfortably edging a mid-table Squiggle side (and slightly outdoing tip) barely impresses Squiggle. Which is a compliment of sorts that they have arrived.
The Squiggle still is impressed. They won a 50-50 match by a larger margin than expected, meaning they bank four points, and their future 50-50 games are slightly tilted in their favour. They went from just making the eight to fifth in one game.

Freo and Sydney are in almost identical positions. Hawthorn have fallen from their 2014 ending position but are still in flag-winning territory. West Coast are improving but still have more work to do.

Same way that it's back to a freo swans gf

Did this in paint to illustrate all premiers back to 1980 (Tiger's last flag).

A bit rough but it reveals premiership hotspots. They grey line approximates a match between attack and defence.

There is arc from North Melbourne 1996 around to Sydney 2012 which are typical premiership teams. Then are cluster of great teams (Hawthorn 1986 to Carlton 1987) and the four in a class of their own (Hawthorn 89, Essendon 85, Geelong 2011 and Hawthorn 1988).

It will be interesting if Hawthorn don't make the top 4 but continue only losing close games and still remain in the Premiership zone at the end of the year.

You need out perform or match expected margins/scores to stay there so close games for rest of year will bring you back to the pack

Port now predicted to finish 12th by the Squiggle.

Were predicted for top four only a month ago.

don't forget their run last season then they tapered off mid-season. it's kind of like they've hit their shit patch at the start of the season, so who knows they might go on a really good run from next week.

It's amazing that the forecasted Squiggle has Collingwood in 6th with 12 wins, and the Western Bulldogs in 13th with 11 wins.

1 win separating 8 teams, anyone can make the finals this year.
